Does Sony plan to correct the DS4's rubber issue?

I've had two DS4s since launch and even though I've used them extensively they're in excellent condition. I guess the problem never were with every controller?

If course not. There are likely 16 million consoles out there now so Atleast 16 million controllers.

Even with the basic 1% standard failure rate given that would be 160,000 controllers that failed in one way or another from just standard failure rates

I bought my PS4 post-launch and haven't had an issue with the DS4 it came with. My friend purchased his PS4 at launch and had an issue with his right analog stick.

It seems like a launch issue.

Two launch controllers with no issues here. I place a pretty lite thumb on the joysticks so that may help.
Only thing i don't like is how slippery they get.

I do prefer my X1s sticks and thats pretty much it.
I want another DS4 but id like to wait for a redesign(to the sticks) if it ever came....

You all must be lucky with your sticks or something, I've had 1 controller bad with sticks, sent that in and had to deal with a 2 month wait service because they forgot to approve it (as well as sending me back a controller with 5 huge scuff marks all over), as well as I had a problem with the R2 getting stuck on a controller that I bought to tide me over while I was waiting for the one I had to get serviced, but I was able to switch that one out for another at Best Buy since it was within the wait period. The controllers feel great to use, but I've just had the worst luck with them. Also I don' think they actually changed out the material on the sticks, it feels the same to me for some reason.

So far I've had 3 controllers break, two had broken triggers and one had a deadzone in the left analogue. The build quality with these controllers are crap.

I was still wondering if the Dualshock 4 had the thumbstick's material problem fixed or what.

As I have seen some mix opinions regarding the new controllers... what is GAF official consensus on the "new" batch of Dualshock 4?

For the White DS4...
For the Blue DS4...
For the "new" Black DS4...
For the Camo DS4...

p.s. I am just asking, cause I just got a Blue DS4 for Xmas and I am wondering if I should invest in another pair of grips (already have 2 Launch DS4 equip with them)... :/

I have more issues with the triggers.

R1 started to stick.

Pulled it out and cleaned it a bit.

Doesn't stick anymore but the right side is still "choppy" or whatever and it feels like a permanent thing. L1 is a lot snappier.

Sucks :(

Yep. I have one controller with a permanently stuck L2, and one controller with a broken R2. I can see where the plastic is starting to break on the R2.

Super annoyed that they only lasted a year. I'm super delicate with my triggers now, but I shouldn't have to be.
