Does your spouse also game? What does he she they think about gaming?

yeah, up to the point i can't play switch for a while, she likes puzzles and animal crossing
she is fine, because she also work with me as game developer in visual dept.

My wife doesn't really like gaming and sees it as a waste of time. She has only ever played Minecraft, Animal Crossing, and Pokopia very casually. In her defense, I also thing games are a waste of time which is how we make things work.

My girlfriend, my daughter and my two younger sisters coudnt give less of a fuck about gaming ..... like zero.

My mother was actively against it for a long time, which made my childhood as a gamer kind of a constant struggle, but eventually she gave up and accepted her son was a nerd, her nerd made pretty well in life so eventually she was proud.

My wife is cool with it but the very limited time I have, she rather make me watch her shit soaps with her.

We seldom watch TV outside of few series and movies. She's the type who listens to philology lectures while doing housework. Book club and night walks are out biggest couples things.

No, not actively. But she enjoys games and will happily join for CoOp/multiplayer stuff if she thinks something I'm playing looks fun/interesting.

Yes, she loves Atlus to death. She really like SMT series.

We are currently playing Metaphor on each personal save file. So we play it alternately.

I Have Nothing GIF by Bounce

Husband doesn't play many games, but when we met I knew he liked Infamous, so I bought him Infamous 2 to play on my PS3.

Since then - he's continued playing every new SuckerPunch game, Zelda BotW and TotK (back to back near 100%ing each), some co-op games with me, and can play Cities Skylines for hours and hours on end.

Only if you count those crappy match 3 style mobile games on tablet.

My wife is +6 years older than me and stopped caring about console gaming when the NES was still current technology. Ever since she watched me play through the original FF7 she has adopted this mentality of watching me play single player games like they're movies. She'll sit here and watch me play games like Horizon Zero Dawn or Expedition 33 or either of the two recent mainline Zelda games but has no interest in playing them herself.

Oh yeah my girlfriend games a lot. Right now Fallout 76 (thousands of hours..) but that's just because no single player game has appealed to her in a while. Before that BG3, Fallout 4, Skyrim, Little Nightmares and many other games.

I'd say we game about an equal amount and also together if we can find those rare couch co-op games. We keep going back to Bubble Bobble, Golden Axe and Streets of Rage though.

While I typically play a lot of different games, mostly JRPGs, my wife will find a game she likes and dedicate all her free time to it for years. She's extremely picky about what she likes. Since 2020 I've only gotten her to play two games - Animal Crossing, and Balatro. Even Pokopia didn't hold her interest for more than about 30 hours, but her Nintendo account says she's up to almost 8,000 hours in Animal Crossing and nearly 2,000 hours in Balatro.

My wife doesn't play many games, but for some reason loves Splatoon. So occasionally she goes through phases where she plays Splatoon 3 multi-player a ton for a couple weeks on the Switch 2 and then doesn't play anything for a couple months.

My 13 year old son vastly prefers PC gaming to consoles. As do most of his friends in middle school.

I'm living my dream, I no longer escape reality to play video games and I expect the same thing from her, other reasons don't matter to me.

My wife plays Sims 4. That's it. I play everything worth playing. She's certainly not interested in the games I play, and I'm certainly not interested in the sims 4.

And that's okay.

Spouse is playing Slay the Spire 2 right now. Was playing Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous earlier. We were both playing New World quite extensively, until Amazon decided to pull the plug. Waiting for the next big MMO for us to dive into.

I game and play guitar, my wife crafts... a lot. We both make sure we pull our weight before setting time aside for our hobbies. It works for us.

For my wife it really depends. Sometimes she gets obsessed and other times she goes months without playing much and will often just watch me. She likes stereotypical games like Animal Crossing, is very much a Nintendo fan (with her own Switch) who enjoys the classics, but she will also play things that are more hardcore like Monster Hunter.

I'm very fortunate, she supports my hobby and takes an interest. I can often count on her for coop, though she isn't a fan of certain genres (FPS, strategy, open world among her least favorites).

Apart from games like Bejeweled or the like, no she doesn't. And she doesn't understand my passion for games, collector's editions etc. But she accepts and respects it. And that's what matters to me.

Mostly WoW and quite a fair few horror games. Some big AAA games here and there like the Dragon Age games. Mass Effect, Witcher 3, Batman games. Usually one or two AAA games per year, rest of the time is WoW.

She clocks more hours on the PS5 than I do. Primarily shooters, horror, puzzles and action adventures. Last games played were Silent hill 2, Ghost of Yotei and RE requiem and currently replaying UC4 and lost legacy, after hearing about the recent rumor. Next will likely be Silent hill f and 007. We finally started up split fiction as well.

Pretty hardcore too. Will always pick the hardest difficulty available.

Yep, I caught a rare one ❤️

Yes, we played couch co-op, It Takes Two, Split Fiction, RE 5, Gears etc.
She's also into The Witcher and Harry Potter books so she played Hogwarts Legacy, Witcher games.
After I attended with her the FF Rebirth music concert, she played Remake and Rebirth, hyped for the next game.
Most of the time, she likes to read books or knit on the couch next to me while I play something.

I haven't really been in a relationship with anyone who is as into gaming as I am. I had a boyfriend who was really into LoL at one point though, and I have played Borderlands 2 with all my exes. My last boyfriend had zero interest, though when I got a strain injury in both wrists that meant I could no longer play, I got him to play TLoU and Outlast so I could watch. And Braid. But I could tell his heart wasn't in it.

She was a BioWare and Bethesda fan but those days are long over. She is now an Executive so she has little free time which is spent TikTok'ing. But she still does cosplay sometimes.

You see how things changes from place to place... my 12 year old son and his friends play mostly playstation and mobile (clash royale and fortnite) .. no PC whatsoever

Yep. She's currently playing trails of Cold Steel 4 after getting platinum on the first three. She'll play on her portal while watching me play on the TV. She plays just about anything except COD and twitch shooters, or anything racing.

She's really good at alot of different types of games. At one point she was really good at RTS like Myth, but age is catching up with us. We met playing games so we have been gaming together going on 30 years.

My girlfriend started gaming a bit now and then when we got together many years ago, and I think the first game she finished by herself was Mario Odyssey.
Since then she's finished both Hollow Knight and The Binding of Isaac, which makes me kinda proud !
We also play some games together, the last one was Reanimal.

Playing Crimson Desert simultanuously right now. Before that I introduced her to the Fromsoft catalogue (Bloodborne and upwards) which she loves but only when playing coop since her frustration tolerance for dying to bosses is rather low. And I have to drop her all that end game equipment :messenger_grinning_sweat:

My wife and I play Ark ASA on and off, and some Wow.

We have a 4 year running Ark server, love our time there to death. Breeding dinos, fighting bosses.

Our 18 yr old son joins occasionally
