“Two tiny kittens, screaming and covered in the blood and gore of their crushed and maimed siblings, were thrashing about trying to get free,”

Oh god. :(

At least two survived, dog is badass.

Lost my cat this last week :( Hope someone found him and is taking care of him.

Also all this dogs/cats > humans may explain why so many people seem to have such decreased sympathy for suffering humans versus suffering house pets.

I want those little kittens! NOW!

I avoided this story in the news because this type of news always has a sad angle and I just can't deal with it... so I held out until I accidentally clicked this damn thread. I kind of read it not realizing what I was reading... besides hating myself for reading this damn thing, I am full of profound sadness that some sick fuck would even put a cat into a bag and toss it on the road, let alone four of them and have two of them... crushed and maimed. Then those other kittens had to be in the bag with them... The story made me cry a little, but then reading that the kittens were crying and covered in the remains of their siblings really shook me and hurt.

However, despite all that, I feel a ting of hope and happiness in knowing that a wonderful dog saved the two kittens and stood by the side of the kittens until the owner realized something was wrong. Also, for the person for actually taking the other two to the vet and getting them cared for instead of destroying them... just a small bit of hope in an otherwise tragic and heartbreaking story.

Wait.. I didn't even notice that, just saw the thumbnail and posted it thinking it was the normal version haha.

The only reason we don't use highly trained attack tigers is pretty self-explanatory.

that's awful. i can't even imagine... :'(

but good dog. :)

They should name them Dexter and Brian.

I found my one cat duct taped inside a shoe box in a dumpster back in 2001. I'm not sure I've ever been more infuriated at any other point in my life. She was just a tiny kitten, not more than 8 weeks old.

Yea same here. I can't help but imagine what I'd feel if I was in their place.

It's heart warming but also such an anger inducing story. To think someone could do what someone did to those kittens just angers me. But to know that dog managed to save the kittens is so heart warming at the same time. Just imagine being one of those kittens.

Awesome dog is awesome.

Why are they "affectionately" known as the bag kittens? I think they'd probably want to forget all about this horrific situation. Poor kitties. D:

I can't even understand how some people can be so despicable.
