Dont be ashamed. Confess your nerd sins

I have a Master Replicas Boba Fett helmet that cost me $500 and I want to get a Vader helmet that will probably cost around $600.

Probably 95% of the time I reference something I never actually saw/read/played it, I just know enough about it from the Internet to seem like I have.

This. Lots of film and literary references of stuff i've never touched (which is a shame in and of itself), just now from reading a shitton of TVTropes.

I don't "get" the, for lack of a better term, white nerd culture. Comics, superheroes, Dr. Who and all that random British shit, fantasy/medieval settings like Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, etc. etc.

Final Fantasy XIII is an amazing game and so is the first sequel. Lightning Returns was good, but not as good.

I got teary-eyed during the reveal of the new X-Files teaser
My wife looked at me probably wondering why she married me
I'm glad she wasn't home for the FF7:Remake announcement

I place animated films on the same level of importance as live action mainstream films.

I think Revenge of the Sith is a good Star Wars film.

Also off-topic my nephew got mad at me for insinuating that he is a nerd even though he does everything I did as kid to be considered a nerd. Everyone's a nerd so no one's nerd I suppose.

I make jokes about games at work that no one gets. They're usually subtle enough that no one gets it.

I also tend to hum or whistle game music. No one has called me out on it yet.

I have played to completion no fewer than two games that have been banned from discussion here.

I own almost every Super Pochaco figure.
Yes, even that 2ft tall $300 one that released a couple of weeks ago

When I want to see a movie on opening night and my friends aren't interested because it's "too geeky" then I'll usually lie to them and go alone anyways. No regrets.

This is *a small part* of my Warhammer collection.

Also my text tone is the Super Mario Bros coin sfx.

I have bought multiple tabletop guide books (mostly for D&D).

I have never actually played tabletop D&D (or other similar games) in my life.

I built a ghostbusters proton pack with full lights and sound. It cost about 1k.

Then I bought the matty trap, pke meter, and ecto goggles for another $300ish.

im more interested in playing the same jrpg for the hundredth time than i am about playing new games edit: or doing much of anything else honestly

i own the hatoful boyfriend dakimakura, though i dont particularly like the vn very much at all. just for the novelty of it. and because i like cute anime guys dressed as maids. that probably counts too

Look at all the nerds in this thread.

But joking aside ...I really enjoyed the Twilight movies. I rank them right up there next to Harry Potter...

Thirty years ago I use to get together with friends, partially dress up and play Dungeons & Dragons....I don't have the time, and my friends all live far away from me now, but I would still do this today if I could.

LSV cube drafts (and sometimes the matches too) are a bit of a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't even play the game much anymore.

The most recent one was so goooood.

I honestly probably have watched significantly more videos than actually played Magic over the last few months. I only really have time for a draft every other week or something like that.

Asuka > Rei

I also paid about $70 for a film cell with Asuka in it that was a collectible when JP Blu ray releases of 2.22 had film cells of the first stock that showed in theaters. I had to pay a third party site to bid for me since Yahoo Japan auction was Japan only.

Oh yeah, I went to the midnight launch of Force Friday. I expected a lot more nerdiness, like Comic-Con levels, but didn't see much. Must've been further down the line, I was near the front.

I hate Star Wars. hate it.

I like watching reaction videos of certain nerd things like episodes of doctor who or anime.

I made a "The goggles do nothing!" joke at a recent geek social, everyone laughed.
I have no idea what it is from.

Simpsons, when Wolfcastle plays Radioactive Man.

lsv single handedly is making me want to play magic again since discovering his draft vids, dude is such a fun guy

My first fap was to Ace from Doctor Who in a magazine. I was 11, twenty two years ago.

I regret nothing

From this point onwards you are my favorite person on Gaf. I like your style.

I've seen or listened to every episode of Doctor Who in order

I did that too!
I'm doing it again now. I just finished the 4th Tom Baker series for the second time.

Even the awful 60's ones?

You're not my favorite poster.

Awful!? Ha, those are the best ones. Particularly during the Troughton years.

You're my second favorite.

In highschool, I once stayed up way too late, said "screw it", and wrote a poem for class that equated to a Courage the Cowardly Dog/Neon Genesis Evangelion crossover. I avoided names but...come on.

NERD CONFESSIONS:

- I'm really tired of that increasingly homogenous "geek culture". I don't care about Star Wars or Doctor Who or Game of Thrones or zombies or wizards or superheroes.

- I had, at one point, a large, prominently displayed game collection. I've since sold most of it off, and what remains I keep hidden from view. Minimalism is my escape.

- JRPGs are life.
