Ok hear me out. I got bitten in the face by a dog and it didn't hurt. Weirdest thing, it was a bad bite but it just felt really hot. The bite was out of nowhere and really quick. Blood everywhere but no pain.

Now sharks have really sharp teeth, much sharper than a dogs, and when they bite you its out of nowhere. I bet their bites are so traumatic that you don't feel them.

I bet its just like a knife going through butter.

Thanks for the link. This thread reminded me of that exact same incident. I think I saw a show about it on the Discovery Channel years ago but couldn't quite remember the details.

I would still be scared of a Whale Shark if I were in the water near it but my real shark fear comes from Great Whites. We've had some bad attacks here in Australia.
