Don't stick your Samsung Galaxy Note 5 stylus in backwards

Wow looking through the comment section on the YouTube video is painful. The Samsung fanbase is just as bad as the Apple fanbase if that's any indicator. Literally every tech device I've used with a stylus has a thicker end (or just a random bump at the end) so you can't easily put it in backwards. Hell, iirc even the prior Note series phones have it.

Then you have people in the comments saying it's user error and that it's like holding a knife backwards and complaining about it cutting you. What kind of comparison is that? It's just as bad as those people defending bend-gate or antenna-gate. Fanboys are so unbearable.

60fps video kind of caught me off guard. Love the future.

Too bad about the pen thing. Should have a thicker end to prevent this from happening... It's a simple design alteration that you just expect.

What's worse is apparently they've gone backwards on design also. I tried today to see if my note 3 pen could go in backwards, it can't.

If both Apple and Samsung are equally worse, you'll have seen Apple fanboys making numerous jokes about it on 9gag or facebook by now.

What's even more hilarious is that Samsung designed their stylus correctly (meaning you -can't- insert it the wrong way) for their first four Note models. Instead of just pulling out the stylus with your fingers as was the case with the older Notes, on the Note 5 you need to click the top button on the stylus to make it eject (the click-top is what is getting caught on the internal mechanism when you insert it the wrong way).

It just blows my mind that they not only made the stylus -more- difficult to remove for use in the Note 5, but they also designed it in such a way that you can break your $800 phone if you slide the stylus in backwards (should not even be possible to do this). This is just textbook design failure. Really hope the fallout from this prompts a serious internal review at Samsung. It's obviously desperately needed.

you can insert the Note 4 stylus wrong, it just doesn't break the removal sensor or get stuck.

The question is, why the fuck would you insert it backwards?

The fucking tip always go in the right way when you finish using it.

other than when deliberately doing it yesterday, i've been a Note owner for almost 3 years and never ever ever inserted the S Pen in my Note II or Note 4 backwards, but this is still a terrible design flaw.

Seems like Samsung is gonna need a mass firing of its creative leads and directors after this fucking shitshow of phones the last year.

I'm still trucking with a Note 2, but it looks like the line of quality Samsung ended with the Note 4.

Note 4 is amazing.

i remember back in the day, people in the service departments would tell stories of how idiot customers would insert memory the wrong way, as if it was possible.

Did Samsung not learn from this?

As a owner of the note 5, I need to make sure I don't use the s pen while drunk

Make sure nobody touch your phone too. All they need to do is to insert your S pen the wrong way to pull a thousand dollars prank on you.
