I saw the commercial too. It's especially weird because they made new footage for this commercial, as if people even remember or care about that interpretation of Godzilla. I loved the old Godzilla Taco Bell commercials though.

Yeah, that was creepy. I first saw it halfway through and I thought I had tune into one of those tv specials where they show old commercials.

Jesus gaf, its not like we are talking about an in depth piece of historical literature.

I think he means interpretation as in "I will not disgrace the real Godzilla by insinuating that GINO and Godzilla have any relationship with each other."

Umm excuse me. Godzilla has had GIANT CRABs in the movies, and as we all know Giant Crabs are accurate on a historic level.

Which means Godzilla is real.

:lol Fair enough, but there's a big difference between the Japanese and American versions here. "Bad Art"?

Actually, Final Wars has a gigantic SHRIMP

Ebirah(monster's name)=Japanese for shrimp.

I think that makes it even more awesome that Toho made a oxymoronic monster. Not terribly shrimpy, is he? Anybody can come up with a giant crab of death, heck, look at half the games at E3, how many other death-bringing shrimps have there been throughout pop-culture history?

Just one.

I saw that and recognized it as the US Godzilla and wondered WTF myself.

I think what happened is that the ad agency wanted some kind of movie monster to eat the Doritos or whatever stupid concept they had going and just reused a model that they could license on the cheap. It's not like the '98 Godzilla is that much of an icon and probably cheaper to use than King Kong or the real Godzilla.

It may not have been intentional at all and they just reused a model that was at the SFX shop.

wait what I just saw this commerical...what the ****? So I guess this is US's Godzilla for sure then...I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel as the movie is set up for one.

GINO is frankly the best investment I ever made on DVD.

Play (to start the movie)
>>| a bunch of times
Play (when he arrives at the city)
>>| a bunch of times
Play (when they lure him with fish)
>>| a bunch of times
Play (when they go into MSG)
>>| a bunch of times
Play (when he arises from MSG)
Stop

fun to watch and doesn't take more than 30 minutes of my time.
