Dark Seer and Naga ARE INSANE, fuck this Lycan talk.

Eh, lycan is a pretty broken hero. He's by far the most first banned/first picked hero in the game. While other heroes are also up there with him (dark seer, naga, maybe morphling), there's no denying that he's an insanely strong hero that requires A LOT of effort to overcome.

Naga > Lycan IMO

Definitely wouldn't call Lycan broken. He can be dealt with if pubs would just buy wards and pay attention to his jungling. Deny that first Roshan of his and there's no reason he should be able to gain an advantage over your entire team. His wolf form is definitely very strong once he has his BKB, but that can be dealt with by specific counterpicks like Disruptor.

I'm definitely at a lower skill level but I don't think there's a single hero that I would say is inherently broken. I don't get that impression watching pro-matches either, it's just frustrating to watch Dendi Pudge hook a morphling 7 times and only get the kill off once or twice. :P

YO HYLIAN7 UR ULTI GOES THROUGH BKB, WHY DIDN'T YOU EAT LYCAN?

But in all seriousness, AA and Disruptor both own morphling. Bottle crowing on most spell spamming mids owns morph if he goes mid. QOP is good against morph. Being good at the game is good against morph. Wex Invoker is good against morph. sd is good against morph.

You guys complain about "overpowered" heroes, but I've only seen one person mention Naga, no one mention Syllabear, no one mention Dark Seer, and nothing about TA. Kind of shows what skill level you guys are at, and also makes me realize why some people would complain about Bloodseeker. At the end of the day, there will be heroes that are more "broken" then morph and lycan, and I'm sure teams are finding ways to counter them. (the disrupter emergence is a good example of that, as he's a great teamfight hero that does very very well against morph and lycan)

Loki_demi is broken. </3

6.75 this weekend then? Since Icefrog wanted it out before october 1st or something. Or is today still possible?

The holiday in China starts Monday and he said he wanted them to be able to play the new map, so it either has to come by then or he won't be able to make his deadline and we'll see it some time next week.

I'm going to attempt to learn Meepo today. I'm playing games against bots until I get the hang of it and am stomping the bots with him.

Played with Medium bots. Viper completely balled out of control, but I still outfarmed him. I think some of the numbers are bugged though, as GPM and XPM are 0 for some reason, and I know I died three times and not two. Regardless: HOLY FUCK MEEPO IS FUN AS HELL!

I'm still trying to get my muscle memory used to the micro, but jesus christ it's fun to suddenly just poof in on some poor schmuck that thinks he's getting away, not to mention all the nets. When you get 4+ Meepos, farming is RIDICULOUS with him. I almost wish some items transferred other than boots, as I would so put a Battlefury on him if they did. I hit 25 before that Viper did though, and I had more gold at endgame than he did. Pretty sure I had higher GPM too.

I'm sure some mistakes I made wouldn't fly in a game against real people, but I definitely think I did pretty damn well for my first time. I know all my death were due to micro mishaps or TP-in + Poof mishaps.

let's see, so lycan 58% win in pro games, most first bans, 2nd most 2nd ban, 3rd most 3rd ban, with the highest "hero reliability" stat according to bruno (though this one isn't as telling as it is pretty vague). So obviously lycan isn't broken at all and is easy to deal with in pubs with a couple wards and ganks. ez hero is ez. The hero has insane damage through early, mid, and late game. He can easily farm 100 cs and rosh by 15 minutes and can push harder than any other hero in the game (with his get out of jail free card--that's huge while split pushing). Just by the fact that you have to ward most of his jungle, gank him multiple times, and 50% of the time he will still bounce back fine equates to a broken hero. fyi you can farm one hard camp over and over fine on lycan. I've had to do it in multiple games, still get a quick 6 and ez 100 cs by 15 mins.

Pro players obviously don't want to deal (I remember when milk made his "pro players have figured out how to invalidate lycan post" before the international, yet he was still most banned) with him and for good reason, if he's hard to deal with in competitive, hes 100x more difficult to control in pubs where you often can't get 3 like minded players to help you "shut down" (i would never use this word with lycan anyway, it's more of "control") one hero.

I think individually lycan is way more broken than naga siren, but of course when you pair naga with the huge aoe (enigma, ds) ulti's shes insane when compared to any hero ever.

Oh, medium bots. Yea, I was going to say that deny number didn't seem right, lol. I've finished some games against unfair bots that have like 50+ denies.

I played against a Meepo who rolled over us (<20 games, noobie level) pretty quickly. He just farms and levels so fast. Personally I'm kind of scared to handle micro intensive heroes when sometimes I find myself misusing stuff like Helm of the Dominator to do simple things like stack ancients. I'm just going to leave them for when I don't have to worry about reading what each item does before buying them anymore and stuff like that.

He seems all kinds of fun though, but not for me.

That reminds me, Meepo is hard as hell to last hit or deny with. That was giving me the most trouble early on, hence the only 6 denies.

Any link to that Treant Protector game? Joindota and Dota Academy alike seem to miss it in their records.

And as hero balance goes, Lycan is really the only hero that comes to mind for me that strays far enough into nuisance outlier territory to warrant a medium-sized rebalancing on (as opposed to tweaks). Naga, Morphling, Dark Seer, Anti-Mage... each of these have shortcomings, whereas Lycan strikes me as being nine tenths carrot and one tenth stick regardless of how poorly his early game goes. There isn't enough downside.

Quelling blade and goestrike.

I did grab Geostrike first, didn't think about the Quelling Blade. My starting items were a Ring of Protection, 2 Branches, a Tango, and two Salves. Probably should have traded the Ring and one of the Salves for Quelling Blade, or maybe the Branches, I'm not sure.

Lycan is a good laner, contrary to what many people seem to think.

But if, as is usually the case(especially pub level), lycan was picked with the intention of jungling, forcing him into a lane will completely ruin the lane balance of the team as a whole depending on the other picks.

Could end up forcing a double melee or a double carry lane giving your team the advantage early game.

Playdota says that both apply if the quelling has been acquired later, so I suppose that if you skilled geostrike a level 1 then bought the quelling, it would work?

Just tested it. At level one I killed one melee creep with 10 hits. I leveled up to level 2 and took off quelling blade, and it took me 12 hits to kill a melee creep. I can confirm that quelling blade works even with geostrike. Even with a level advantage (which honestly isn't much) it still took me more hits to kill a creep.

Edit: Even marked the melee creeps with taking damage from Geostrike.

Somebody should try and see if it still works when you get Geostrike after buying Quelling, in theory it shouldn't and it should only apply Geostrike.
Would it be resettable by just putting the quelling on the ground, skilling the orb and then picking the quelling up again or does that not count as acquisition?

Why didn't you play Bot matchmaking if you were going to test a hero? Free Battle Points and a chance to roll an item!

Valve just invited me to play Dota 2. :o

What's the differences between Dota 2 and Dota 2 Test?

Test updates 1 day earlier in patches so they can catch critical bugs before the wider release.

Like Meepo. Meepo was so buggy they delayed the main release by one more day because of bugfixing.

Accidentally played a game on US servers (haven't visit them for around 6 months), was shocked how friendly and talkative community is there, comparing to trash we have on EU. Everyone started to talk with each other right from the start. They were discussing strategy, making puns, etc. Closer to the end we had sort of stalemate with the enemy team, and then they just said that it's good game whatever the outcome is. Commended everyone and their mothers.

Are games like this common to US? Because if so, I'll just leave EU queue forever without regret. Screw 200ms, it's better to lose in friendly atmosphere, than to go throw the shower of shit for a wining.

Also this game was the first time I did this. Soooo enjoyable.

I run into cool dudes almost as much as I run into assholes on US servers. But the majority are the quiet type.

I really should try US east one of these days, I get about 170-200ms on there which gets really noticeable when you turn your hero around at 200ms.

EU is not that bad, its just filled with russians that talk to you in... russian, even when you tell them "english" they keep pinging the map while spouting something in russian.

omg i just played a gaem as tree protractor, and now I see why he is so imba and SAKNE pick him. his armor give him so much hp regen and armor its like a free ring of health and helm of iron will, so it saved me 1825 gold and then i used the free items to make battlefury and the Helm of the Dominator which let me increase my farming. When tree crits it does soooooo much dmg and he can't die because he can go invis so its like a shadow blade so tree is like 5125 more gold than any other hero at the start of the game so its op because everyone start with 603 gold.

I don't get your angle, what message are you trying to communicate your attempted humor? Are you trying to mock someone specific or the types of posts certain people do? Are you just drunk? Your lack of capitalization and leet word choice makes it all just overly hard to understand, and makes you just come off as a drunk idiot.
