I checked out just when they were getting to Necrolyte changes. Crazy that they think the Chen changes was enough to fall out of competitive play.

Hm, I missed the TD about the update, is it up on their site yet? Is it the most recent 27 minute video, or is it longer?

EDIT: Just read the answer, haha, new page

GPM, level, score? Not important. Knocking down towers is what's important!

BUSHES KNOCKED DOWN THE TOWERS!

Radiant farmed pretty well, but if they took their focus of anything other than defending their lanes, they would lose all their towers. They didn't even take a single rax from us while I was just TPing all over the place pushing by myself. Having that Riki really helped keep them off my back too.

I had a great play where I TP'd bot to push, and then Invoker TP'd back. Invoker goes on me with a Cold Snap. I'm running through the jungle, just waiting on that TP to cooldown, which is almost over. I juke through the trees, then as soon as it's off cooldown, Sprout and TP out. Invoker throws a tornado at me, the TP finishes right before the Tornado would have hit me!

Oh, I also ended up having one fail TP similar to that one in the lastest Fails of the Week. I just clicked quickly and ended TPing right there when AM was chasing me. I panicked and forgot to press S to cancel, but I had Sprouted around myself to TP. AM blinked on me before the TP finished, so now he was stuck in the Sprout trees. I sheeped him, ran, and got away.

So, how long do you think it will take for Lycan player's to adjust to his jungle changes?

Most lycan players don't play the hero because he is fun for them, but more because they want an easy win. Players like that suck (see: Anbokr) and will just move on to whatever the next S-tier hero is when the comp scene figures it out.

So to answer your question: They won't.
edit: I'm making the assumption that lycan won't be competitive anymore, if that isn't true then I guess they will have to adapt, though, it'll be pretty soon after comp gets it down.

Yeah I don't think lycan is competitive anymore. He's only viable in a 1v1 lane, and even then he must now take the place of a safe lane carry or a wr/mirana/beastmaster. His adv. before was his ability to come out of the jungle with just as much if not more farm than your safe lane carry. Then your team has the gold and the power to 4 man dota while lycan takes all the towers.

So I think I get Nature's Prophet now.

The mode was Single Draft. They didn't get a single tower until about 40 minutes when I went down for the first time. I ended up getting the solo bot since Lycan was jungling. Unfortunately this Lycan didn't do much. I bought the Necronomicon just to push more. We really kept the pressure on them, then the moment we lost a teamfight and I died, they tore through our mid T2, then eventually rax and it was over.

Am I hitting Nature's Quota yet?

Looks like it, rice all game and then lose.

What exactly did I do wrong? I kept the lanes pushed in the whole game. I'm not completely sure what happened here. The Lycan never did solo Rosh, and Dire got it every single time. I TP'd everywhere and pushed, showed up for teamfights as much as possible. TP'd out of many close calls while pushing by myself.

It took approximately 6 hours for people playing WC3 DotA to calculate that the Lycan nerf delayed his Vlads by 2-3 minutes. So yeah. They'll adapt

It will certainly make ruining him early game easier.

Problem with NP in pubs is, they keep farming while the rest of their team is playing 4vs5, and then there is usually a farming carry, making it 3vs5. You can help in pushes and all but you're mostly still just farming. I see a lot of NP's lose because of this reason. He's kinda fallen out of favor with pro teams too, maybe for the same reason.

Then maybe I don't understand something fundamental of Dota. Where is the line drawn between pushing and farming? I was TPing all over the lanes just pushing them in constantly. We rolled through towers and almost rolled through their rax before they could even touch our towers at all. I got that Necronomicon to add even more the push, grabbed scepter just so I could mow down creep lines quicker (and the farm was nice too). By the time I had all my stuff and was saving for buybacks, I could go toe to toe with almost anyone 1v1 on the other team, especially the people like Mirana and Shadow Demon easily.

Those actually need to go down. If they don't there's no point. If you really pushed ALL towers before the other team could even touch yours, and they still win, you're doing something heavily wrong.

I think our biggest problem was Lycan not doing much. He rushed Vlads, but would not solo Rosh, resulting in Sk getting Aegis, and getting it two more times. I also saw him frequently leaving his wolves standing there and not helping push with them. That Lycan also said it was his first time playing Lycan too.

I did laugh though when SK called us "tryhards" just for picking NP and Lycan in Single Draft. I made a narrow escape from SK one time and he just says "Well at least I'm not trying hard."

Night Stalker had a great early and mid game, so he was doing well, but we know that NS has to have things going EXTREMELY well for him to actually carry. This is where Lycan should have come in, and I kind of had the expectation that Lycan would be able to carry and I could fall into a pushing role. (Sort of playing NP like Tinker, I guess)

Gibon3z on Night Stalker had a great gank early on that got me a kill on Shadow Demon, which pretty much gave me the gold I needed to have the Midas pretty well before ten minutes, and then he managed to get Outworld Destroyer right after that.

Your team didn't finish fast enough. Your late game is much weaker than theirs.

Once they got into very late game, your asses were on borrowed time as you learned.

tried playing meepo a couple of times.... fuuuuu

i can see the potential in this hero (I've watched the videos) but fuck if that guy isn't hard to play. I feel like I'd have to put in 20-30 hours just to get a handle on him.

While you guys are covering the buffs to heroes already implemented, some of the buffs to the heroes that aren't implemented seem really good.

Bristleback for instance, 400 damage cap for his quills seems insanely good, and the slight change to the way his mitigation skill releases quills is a good sized buff. Also 20 more damage at level 6 due to warpath base damage increase and stack damage increase. I hope BB is soon on the pipeline.

Centaur's skill now being aoe seems like he could fit better in an enigma line up. 150 is pitifully small but its enough for blackhole, and 400 damage is insane for the first 25 minutes of the game. Not to mention a stomp following the blackhole.

I have no experience playing phoenix or pitlord so I have no idea how these changes affect them. Terrorblade looks like a nerf to me, zeal being completely removed and meta being split into two skills now. 50 ias and in lane regen was nothing to laugh at. Curious if his new metamorphosis changes his BAT like the old one. Atleast sunder goes through bkb, making it reliable for all of the game. I still look forward to seeing him ported.

Also troll warlord looks like an even better 2 now, with his ult lasting full duration on the team, he would be an awesome compliment to a hard carry.

Hoping to see slark, magnataur, centaur tonight.

I played 5 games last night and got stuck playing hard support in all of them, even in a game when I first-picked Slardar to counter the other team's Bounty Hunter and TA.

Worst game was when I played Ogre and had a Crystal Maiden on my team who didn't buy a single support item, went 0-14 and had basic boots and 2 branches at the end of the game. I got lots of solo kills on Ogre though. Orb of Venom is so damn good on him, but that was my best item outside of wards, arcane boots and meka. ;_;

Fuck pubs I wanna play with GAF tonight.

What happened here is you lost to the 1 support 4 carry strat. The only way you could have won was by using the superior 5 carry strat.

Valve is waiting for server capacity, the remaining heroes to be ported and doodads to help newbies to be implemented before it's available to everyone.

Given the amount of bots that are coming in, I would say they're definitely ramping up the last category.

From the way Valve posts on the Dev boards, I always have this odd conception that ChrisC is the only one working on the bots. He is the only one who ever replies about them.

At a glance, It looks like you soaked up all the gold and XP on the team.

Just read this by some guy on dev forums:

As far as I know, bots are being taken cared of by one person. It does not take a team+shitton of time to tweak bots, thus we have bot fixes every week. Deal with it.

So guess it's true.
