Dota 2: The International 2012. Main Event S tarts 08/31. [Over]

The only way to buy something on the dota2store is with the steam wallet or am I able to buy pennants by paypal or something else?

^ The op is just trying to inform you regarding everything if you're an outsider, nothing wrong with that.

Glad they restarted dota tv, super smooth with 9k viewers.

I do wish the item system was tweaked. There's too few items being handed out, Maybe it should be based on the amount of viewers. aka I want a damn item D:

Man, the OP exemplifies everything I hate about DOTA games. Lists upon lists upon lists.

Yeahhhhhh

The one thing I don't like about every single dota announcer is that they are always calling out spell names and item name short hands. People who don't know dota wont know what they are talking about half the time. Like in the hero select screen instead of being like

"They pick x character cause x spell will counter y spell!"

They should just talk about them in terms of what the spell actually does. Be more descriptive so players can follow along.

Can't see WE winning three straight, but the jury is out on whether or not Mouz can throw that many.

Hahaha - too true.

Yeah, it seems pretty limited. Not saying everyone who witnesses something has to get an item, but only one person per event seems kinda low. And as of right now, your best chance is picking games that won't be watched as much and having a pennant for the underdog. That part of the system is what's broken. It should be based on the proportion of supporters. Like with 3k Mouz right now, more than one person should get an item when things happen.

Yeah, before I actually really started playing Dota 2, I had no idea what the hell was going on during Streamed matches. They're not noob friendly at all.

This has come up in the first International as well, but when it comes down to it, commentators explaining what spells do in a live game would more or less jettison actual play-by-play talk. There's just too much to cover in a single broadcast.

You have to realize that TobiWan usually casts for people in the know. Most of us don't need to be explained why Enigma's ult makes that hero. But with this tournament, there is an influx of new watchers so a bit more detailed explanation about what's happening (especialle with the picks) would be nice.

I said it last night, it's Providence that has brought Mouz to The International! :D

How long until game 3?

NVM: Looks like it is starting now.

This is a problem easily solved with multiple broadcasters. Most of Tobi's watchers know the game well enough, we should have some broadcasters for newbies.

This is probably as good a solution as can be had. A newbie broadcaster will have to skimp a lot on play-by-play, but it's a better option than demanding that of a mainline broadcaster.
