What? They didn't have enough time to sprinkle some crack on him?
Man, that cop dialogue reads like a south park parody or something. Christ.
This doctor is great. He's driving past an arrest and he diagnosed the suspect as schizophrenic. From his car. As he's driving. And how did he arrive at this diagnosis? Because the suspect is black (that's actually in the narrative if you click the link).
Then he takes it up a notch and confronts the officers and demands to examine the suspect. Because he has a "duty" as a doctor to see if people are schizophrenic.
I'm not sure if the doctor is crazy or just a plain asshole.
I really do wonder if the doctor would have been justified in shooting the cops in this situation.
When can you defend yourself from cops?
Cmon man don't do this, all lives matter not just black lives. /sbecause black lives don't matter in some people's eyes...this is why they actually need to be told that their lives matter.
I wonder if these comedic representations and satires of the situations have white people who only watch these shows thinking it's all a big joke rather than a reflection of reality.
Hell no.
And you don't defend against cops. Just do whatever the fuck they say and pray its only a broken finger or rib.
The only possible defense is against an off-duty cop, in your house, in the middle of a heinous crime. Even that is 50/50.
Do you go into every cop related thread and spread hyperbole?
Nah just the really really shitty ones.
And I'm serious. Dude is talking about shooting cops. In no way is that a win for you. In the law's eyes or society as a whole.

You are dealing with poorly educated people who had no choice but to go become cops. i dont want to paint all poorly educated people as corrupt or assholes, but there is definitely a correlation b/w poorly educated white men with some very strong racial bias joining the police force.
Again, I am not saying all poorly educated white people are racist. Just that studies show they are more likely to be racist. We definitely need to start requiring cops to have college degrees.
You're fully missing the point that was presented. It was about highlighting how powerless we are, not about suggesting anyone do that.
Yeah their belief is definitely not wrong.I mean, it's not just "thinking" when they actually CAN get away with virtually anything.
I read the article at the link and something seems off. What I found odd was that in his recounting of the events, not once did he ever indicate to the police that he was a doctor. Also, it's his words for what the police supposedly said versus what they might have actually said. Again, as I mentioned in a previous thread, I look forward to when all cops are wearing body cams to either exonerate the police and condemn the bad ones, thus putting the blame where it needs to be.
What about the black guy who was shot trying to help a special needs person, who laid on the ground, raised his hands in the air, and told the cops he was a special needs caretaker there to retrieve a patient?

Or don't intentionally destroy them to save their asses ("80 percent of Chicago PD dash-cam videos are missing audio due to ‘officer error’ or ‘intentional destruction’")https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...tentional-destruction/?utm_term=.9f65946a591a.Provided of course that they actually switch them on
The doctor's name is Ali Afshar. He now knows that his ethnicity almost makes him more of a target than a black man.
Well that's the one part that does make sense. If we allowed people to resist any arrest that they consider "unlawful" on the spot, nobody would ever be arrested peacefully again. Who agrees that they're being arrested for a good reason? For better or worse, the arresting officer makes that call and we have to comply.
Nothing else about this makes sense, though.
