DR is Beaten and arressted for resisting arrest while checking on health black man

I read a very different article than you did apparently. The doctor said in the article hexplains suspected schizophrenia because the man was rocking and muttering to himself, which he'd seen in schizophrenic patients before.

And some doctors consider it part of their oath to help anyone they notice suffering, yes.

I actually had to reread the article to see if either or both were black.

And you don't defend against cops. Just do whatever the fuck they say and pray its only a broken finger or rib.

The only possible defense is against an off-duty cop, in your house, in the middle of a heinous crime. Even that is 50/50.

It'll be interesting to see how the world changes in the next couple of years then onto the long term, something is gonna have to give. I believe it'll only get worse though.

That is straight up bullying. I can totally believe that account because a similar thing has happened to me in the UK. Cops really don't like to be challenged.
 
I read the article at the link and something seems off. What I found odd was that in his recounting of the events, not once did he ever indicate to the police that he was a doctor. Also, it's his words for what the police supposedly said versus what they might have actually said. Again, as I mentioned in a previous thread, I look forward to when all cops are wearing body cams to either exonerate the police and condemn the bad ones, thus putting the blame where it needs to be.

You are dealing with poorly educated people who had no choice but to go become cops. i dont want to paint all poorly educated people as corrupt or assholes, but there is definitely a correlation b/w poorly educated white men with some very strong racial bias joining the police force.

Again, I am not saying all poorly educated white people are racist. Just that studies show they are more likely to be racist. We definitely need to start requiring cops to have college degrees.

I think this a big piece of the issue especially the bolded part. it should be damn hard to be a cop and there should be way more training and more scrutiny. Training should be way longer and should be more and their reasons should be more than just because they have nothing else to do.

I understand we're helpless. Until we start putting pressure on the police chiefs, commissioners, and other brass officials, nothing ever will change.
 
Nothing but a taxpayer funded gang. They're awful. And nothing but top-to-bottom reform will change things.Increase standards, weed out the idiots and maybe over time that toxic culture will begin to shift in a positive direction. Too many protected scumbags out there as is.
 
America as a societal/political entity seems to have missed the point of that old adage "Who watches the Watchmen?". It's supposed to be someone other than the Watchmen themselves otherwise your current police force is what happens.

What about the black guy who was shot trying to help a special needs person, who laid on the ground, raised his hands in the air, and told the cops he was a special needs caretaker there to retrieve a patient?

Even if he WASN'T a doctor, a police officer shouldn't be allowed to tackle you to the ground, claim you're fighting and resisting arrest, and just start making up accusations about you, ranging from "being violent" to "having a false ID". Geez.

idunno but i once was talking to someone, one on one, face to face, who literally used the "all lives matters" phrase to me. But then i got him to admit that driving while black is a actually a thing. Go figure.

The doctor's name is Ali Afshar. He now knows that his ethnicity almost makes him more of a target than a black man.
 
Good man. However, truth is, you don't interfere in police business in God'd country especially when you're not white. Lucky he only suffered cuts, grazes and bruises.

It will be interesting to see if things would change if Hillary wins because things would definitely shift in Trump became president.

I have often wondered what are the rates of being fucked by the cops if you're brown as opposed to being black in god's country?
 
Middle Eastern/Arab doctor withe Ali Afshar for a name trying to help a black man that was assaulted by the police and walked away with cuts and bruises?

Depending on the circumstance, you actually have the right to use lethal force against an officer during unlawful arrests, and in some states, if any of your rights are violated.

The more people that realize this the better.
