Dragon Age: Inquisition Boxart [Up: Bigger]

My first reaction was "ok that looks pretty good, would still prefer a boxart that looked more like Origins though"

Then I noticed the dragon.

shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

I'm not fond of BioWare's last installments in Dragon Age (DA2 I didn't finish) and Mass Effect, but I have no idea what the naming across the franchise has to do with the suspected quality of the game. Maybe quantity of sales if this was a 'mainstream' franchise that would suffer from it, which it isn't.

Such naming kinda means that this Inquisition game has very little to do with Dragon Age which we remember. If they're trying to rebuild the branding after the DA2 catastrophe they're doing it wrong.

Fixed it for them.

This is clearly better. Which is very sad.

This looks pretty damn great. I'm building a PC soon though so I don't know that I'll actually ever see the cover art for it in practice. That makes me a bit sad.

Looks totally different from what I expected, but in a great way. I immediately like that it's very distinct from previous Dragon Age covers, because the series is in desperate need of a refresh after 2.

Certainly a pleasant surprise.

Man oh man, I can't believe the amount of people that didn't notice the dragon on first glance. I'm scrolling through my twitter feed and even several gaming channels are like, "There's a hidden dragon in the DAI cover". The fuck?? for real?

Too bad I don't buy physical games anymore...

Also is that guy holding a two-handed sword with one hand?

The stuff you folks complain about. You can hold a two handed sword with one hand to, you know like, cast a spell to the demon horde converging on him from above.

The cover has meaning. It does what it needs to do.

The colors make sense, especially around the creatures. Its the rift in the fade, and yes the fade rift is in the sky.

Between DS2, Arkham Knight and DAI, This is going to be a great year (for me).

Looks pretty generic.
should have been first post.
That cover could belong to any random fantasy game (there's a problem when people see dark souls in that art)

They made it so neutral it barely brings to mind the original series it belongs to save for the shoehorned dragon (which i can't believe most of you could not see.)

Fixed it for them.

Recalls the previous games and is simple on the eyes. They should kiss your feet and pay you for fixing that mess.

Hopefully it'll be The Shit Mountain Redemption
"I hope the writing is as good as it is in my dreams. I hope to see the old Bioware again.

I hope."

I liked Mass Effect 3 and, to an extent minus all the repeating areas, Dragon Age 2. I also just watched the end of Shawshank Redemption an hour or so ago."

It's probably the shadow behind the helmet, but the smaller image looks like hair to me. I get an overall feminine vibe from the character... makes me think it's a woman. which makes me like it even more actually.

I don't dislike Dragon Age II nearly as much as most people here (it was ok), but I'm still on the "please be more like Origins" team. I wish they didn't even waste time with Dragon Age II characters at all, but that's just nitpicking and won't affect my decision to purchase the game.

I do get the sense that at the very least they made sure that it could be seen as a woman. It was my initial impression as well.

And it is pretty awesome.

Looks straight. I wish they'd kept with the blood dragon motif.

I like the demons but it upsets me. Ever since DAO where they talked about getting insane powers by letting a demon take hold of you, I thought there's be some option to basically turn into Ichigo and have Hollows powers. That's never happened. Seeing some dude on the cover that kinda looks like he has dominion over demons just annoys me that you probably won't actually be able to have dominion over demons in the game.

As a huge Dark Souls fan, I have no idea where people see Dark Souls in the art. I guess the background kinda looks like New Londo Ruins? The epic scale is very "un-Souls".

That's what I get as well. The lighting on the thigh part of the armor makes the character leaner than he/she should. Guess we can take it either way.

Ok took a while but I see the dragon now. Gee... talk about feeling dumb.

It's easy to miss since the negative shape is kinda blurred by the art of the white space. Your eyes are more drawn to the weird black shaped enemies at the top than the dragon shape.
