Dragon Age: Inquisition | E3 2014 Coverage

Was there any information about Dragon Age Keep does it import a character/save or basically everything is generated in the Keep? I wanted to replay DA1 and 2 and keep my decisions, but if it's not needed for the Keep I'd rather play another game.

Last we heard, which was several months ago, was that they were looking into save imports but it wasn't likely. So plan on doing everything within the Keep.

I've also heard that the Dragon Age Keep won't be available till a month before the game launches, now whether or not that's true I'm not entirely sure but it's been popping up on a few sites now.

Everything is from the Keep.

Only real ugly characters so far are Vivienne and Cassandra, she got ugly sorta since DA2. Vivienne though, idk she just looks bad, like someone hit random on the character creation.

I think they probably look worse in stills than in motion, feels that way at least. Cassandra looked decently attractive in recent footage, to me at least:

Agreed, I wasn't pretty vocal in my dislike for Cassandra when we first saw here, and while I still think her transformation from DA2 to DAI was a bit too dramatic, her new appearance has really warmed up to me, especially after seeing her a lot more in motion.

I feel the exact same way, I immediately had a unfavorable reaction when I first saw her DAI model after DA2, really warmed up to it now.

Yep, she looks fine. Watching actual footage tells the tale because the game itself is just so damn good looking.

Yeah, there she looks pretty good. Much better then:

Also when watching the trailers, where the inquisitor is closing the breaches it look like something is trying to come through, here at 1:20 and here at 1:24. In each vid kinda looks like some skeleton/dragon, idk maybe i'm just tripping. thoughts?

Having just played Dragon Age: Origins (I finished last night) it's kind of crazy how much better this game looks visually.

I've already put in some serious hours into doing a fresh DA:O Campaign...total worth...

Not wanting to go through the DA:2 again though...that same cave every other mission really grinds my gears.

While we're on the subject, do we know what platform the footage has been from so far? I'm assuming PC but I'm hoping it's indicative of the PS4 version. I think it's one of the best looking games we've seen so far. I shudder to think at what the PS3/360 versions will be like.

Not sure but I know one of the Demos I spotted a Xbox One controller layout.

All PC w/ Xbox overlay, controller support is also available for PC.

Man, the character models sure have come a long way. No more yellow teeth!

Okay, I thought it was me. One of the major reasons I couldn't take DA:O seriously when I first played it was the yellow teeth.

Yeah it makes no sense atm why they beat her with an ugly stick. Her DA2 look was decent in retrospect.

That's pretty, but I like Inquisition's Cassandra too. She looks battle-hardened, like someone's who's been in more than a couple wars.

If I'm being honest, Vivienne looks...bad. I honestly don't know what they were thinking with her.

I can assure you, if they make the game a gayfest of gaymen its over.
...
The situation annoys the crap out of me and the clear decay of morals in our society is concerning.
...
Eating manure is disgusting to a lot of people. Someone who loves it could take arguments similar to yours and pretend to have the moral high ground. They could engage in a social campaign to make manure eating acceptable norm and you would still object, you fecophobe you. Why do you not like the idea of your main character in Biowares next game being a fecophile? Stepping on toes unnecessarily.

This was the worst post I've ever had the misfortune to read on GAF.

Good. Riddance.

Yeah, Origins has not aged well, but it's still pretty much a masterpiece. Better late than never on playing it, man.

Oh yeah, I loved the game overall but the framerate at the end, Ocarina of Time level textures in some areas, and derpy character models (except Morrigan and Leliana) all really stood out although it did add a certain charm to it. Really glad I played it.

The more they show of the characters the more I cringe. Them little "Meet me at XXX" bios they put out were horrendous. It's shocking people got paid money to write that. Though I'm still in for a day 1 buy on PC because fuck I love 3rd person action RPGs.

I haven't been paying too much attention to this title, been trying to do a media blackout but I just can't anymore...

.....This is a PS4/xbox one title right? Those screens look too good to be on the PS3 or xbox 360.

Against all reason and sense, and DA2, I am nontheless beside myself with hype for this sequel. How do you do this, Bioware? It is not fair.

It's cross gen but I expect the PS3/360 versions to be absolutely pathetic.

I haven't seen them myself, but probably similar to what BF4 looks like overall on last gen systems.

The size of the world is going to have some serious drawbacks for the PS3/360 versions, probably moreso than BF. BF also double the player count and framerate on next gen, which required a significant amount more processing power than just the visual improvements.

So besides some 4chan and twitter users who are assholes where is the big controversy? Not trying to be facetious here but I didn't see any real big stink about it. It's 2014 I don't think being gay is a big deal anymore.

Rather play DA:O than DA2 anyday of the week lol.

No argument there. While I enjoyed DAII for what it was, it was no Origins. But Inquisition looks like they are out to make a statement. I'm actually kind of shocked at how good it looks. I think it's going to be an incredibly strong game.

Indeed, so taking all that into account...not pretty lol.

EA allowing them to delay it a whole year shows some serious commitment to quality for this game. It sounds like Bioware has taken a lot of criticisms to heart for their recent games and are working to show that they're listening and trying to improve.

For sure. People need to keep that in mind before they think it is going to be another DAII rush job. This game just has that finely crafted with care look to it. I never dreamed they would be going so big, but I'm glad that they are trying to remind everyone that they are still BioWare and that they have made some pretty fine games.

Not to mention fucking MOUNTS. Looking forward to riding my giant lizard compadre.

Don't get too excited. Your companions dissappear when you get on it and there is no combat. It's just a cool way to fast travel already explored regions without actually using the Fast travel.

This is a good thing iMHo. If they didn't disappear the pathing would be bad, they'd get left behind, and they'd teleport anyway. Skip the middleman, I say.

You sure about that? Oh wait I remember now...the Witcher 3 has mounted combat...nevermind lol..
