All Dragon Age: Inquisition spoilers go here.

It's a bit early, but there's already quite a few spoilers out there and this thread is to prevent spoilers ending up in the OT.

Solas Spock is your final chance to leave this thread, anything below him could be a spoiler for you.

I'm really surprised and impressed that they gave Hawke such a large role and that previous choices have made as much of a difference as they have. I'm still on Act 2 but the sacrifice scene in the Fade was tremendous.

For me it was a choice between Hawke and Loghain. I left Loghain behind because he's old and I figured that it would vindicate my choice to spare him in Origins. I've heard that for some people it's a choice between Hawke and Alistair, and that one must be tough.

Speaking of Loghain it's surprising how likable he is now after 10 years as a Gray Warden.

The version where Hawke dies, though? The Varric scene that follows is heartbreaking.

I was very surprised how Loghain became likable. Remember that area in the fade where the antagonist mentions all the bad stuff from everyone and their past? When he mentioned what Loghain did, I really liked how he replied "It's nothing I haven't told myself a thousand times" or something like that. Really liked his response.

I liked him so much that I decided to let Hawke behind. Now, I agree it was heartbreaking how Varric responds... but I feel like there's a chance Hawke is not dead. We haven't seen him die. We just assume he did. I wouldn't be surprised BioWare did this on purpose so he can still come out alive.

thank god for no spoilers i didnt see yet, i left logain behind, varric was alright but his card changed and something about writing a letter to bethany was said(was this a game glitch or something? varric's card looks depressing and he gave up the red lyrium in DA2) hoping the game didnt register that hawke was left there.

Well, that's weird. What you're telling me sounds like what I heard when I left Hawke behind.

well i said "hawke lived" and he said something about that being a mirracle" and hawke went to the warden command central(washetep or something) guessing no chance for hawke to come back to skyhold in the game.

I think they forgot to add/fix that because Varric was in my party when Hawke "died" and he still only knew about it after we left the fade and I told him about it.

just watched a video on the what if hawke dies, dialog was nowhere near that sad for logain's death, varric just talking about loghain being the fereldin dream, maybe it was meant to be like " hey bethany your brother was in the fade, he's all right" since rumors of the inquisitor being in there would warrant a response like that. PS i'm going to do the eluvian quest line thing(right after morrigan shows you the elluvian) how far into the game am i in a percentage idea?(got loads of sidequests to finish still)

Almost at the end of the story. Very close, actually.

Just finished the main story. WTF was that ending.

So Solas was the Wolf God thing? Is Flemeth dead?

Seems like it. Solas fucking betrayed me.

I GAVE THAT DUDE ALL OF MY MAGE EPICS AND HE TOOK OFF WITHOUT GIVING THEM BACK. I HAD TO CHANGE MY MAGE TO DORIAN WHO HAS REALLY SHITTY GEAR.

I'LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU FOR THIS, SOLAS. THAT LAST DRAGON FIGHT WAS MUCH HARDER BECAUSE I LOST YOU! YOU HAD THE BEST MAGE WEAPON IN THE GAME, YOU MOTHERFUCKER!

What happens right after the Fade if you keep Loghain around? Does he become Warden-Commander since the rest of the leadership is dead? That's what I figured would happen and it would be a nice twist of irony.

Yeah, he does. At the end of the game, they talk about how there is a civil war between the wardens and that they're not sure how Loghain is doing though.

Just finished it, damn these teases give me more!

My world state after the finishing the game (started with default world state)
[I know it's the spoiler thread but still spoiler tagged it because of the choices]
Grey Wardens are rebuilding but have split themselves from Weisshaupt
Nothing heard from Hawke, who went to Weisshaupt, but it seems a war between the now two Grey Warden factions is brewing
Cassandra is the new Divine
Relationship between Chantry and Inquisition is strained
Chantry also plunged into a Civil War
Empress fully supports the Inquisition
And fuck Solas.

All in all can't wait for the DLC to get anounced to see whats coming. Now of to hunt some more dragons.

I got Leliana as the new Divine, and yes, fuck Solas.

All I'm going to say is I loved that "the Dawn Will Come" scene so much.

The song...Cullen joining in...the crowd kneeling...

Good golly, I haven't enjoyed a cut scene that much in a long time.

I keep seeing this thread and the title is driving me a bit nuts.

It better not be who I least expect (I expect them the fucking most now!) :P

-away from this thread for a while of course.

In terms of excitement, they are really stacking the plot against allying with the Templars, yar? It's only like "This Lord Seeker guy is kind of a douche but we need Templar's support" and then we're immediately given the permanent choice.

Whereas on the mages' side we get "Tevinter invasion! Potential new companion! TIME MAGIC!?" before we get to choose.

Also, Dorian is just a much better a character than Cole, and he's directly involved in the Mage quest.

I went with the templars because that guy was such a douche. Questline turned out amazing.

And wow Vivienne as the divine? Sounds awesome.

I've played all the dragon age games and just completed this one but I still don't understand this 'dread wolf' thing with solas. What does that mean exactly?

I was audibly shocked when he met up with flemeth.

Dread Wolf is Fen'Harel, an ancient figure in elven mythology. There are Codex entries about him.

Great game.
Ending caught me totally off guard, but Solas always seemed like he knew more than he was telling. Bringing him into the dungeon with Morrigan and the well of sorrows was a great decision, he has so much unique dialogue.

Also, the decision of who to leave in the fade was piss easy for me, it was Stroud or Hawke. Stroud, sorry buddy, i don't know you that well. If it had been Alistair and Hawke .. i would have shut the game off and thought long and hard before turning it on again.

The thing that surprised me most about the game was fucking Corypheus, I did *not* see the antagonist of a DA2 DLC being the primary villain in this game.

PS how did you guys tackle the Ritual at the Well of Sorrows ?

I finished it and let Morrigan drink from it. The confrontation between her and Flemeth was amazing.

The moment I killed Corypheus and Solas was disappointed the orb was destroyed was when I knew something would happen involving Solas. Him saying "No matter what happens next, I'll always respect you" and staying behind while the rest of us celebrated over the victory sealed the deal.

So yeah, I wasn't surprised when he disappeared. Him being Fen'Harel and killing Flemeth though? Yeah, I never expected that to happen. That got me good.

I didnt' get what happened there, it looked like Flemeth willingly transferred her power to the wolf. possibly to help him fully reawaken from his slumber and unlock his full power, at least that's what the glowy eyes suggest.

Solas-Chronicles DLC mayhaps ?

For some reason Cassandra ascended as the new Divine in my run. That's weird, because I only verbally encouraged Leliana (my choice for the Sunburst Throne) and dissuaded Cassandra. I think I may have missed one conversation with Leliana, because I had two with Cassandra on the topic.

But at least it's better than the eternally nagging Vivienne.

And Solas... he was already one of my favourite characters but his reveal at the end was both sursprising and inevitable. Fen'Harel, damn...

My choice was also between Hawke and Stroud...I left Hawke behind. I felt it was a fitting end for him.

I also loved the concept of Corypheus as the main antagonist. The execution of that concept however wasn't that succesful. Most of the time he felt just as an angry generic evil lord who wants to destroy the world.

At the Well of Sorrows I chose to ally with the elves and later I let Morrigan drink from the pool. I knew there would be a catch and I wasn't going to let my sweet Andrastian body be spoiled by foul elven magic.

I just want to say, ever since the end of Origins I've had deeply ambivalent feelings about Morrigan.

Watching her tell Flemeth off and saying she cared nothing for her fate, only her son's safety... I'm damn proud of you, girl.

Okay I just beat the game. The pacing at the end felt off, I think they spent too much time setting up the sequel with Flemeth and that stopped the momentum of the story. Then you just go straight to the final battle. A bit anticlimactic.

My biggest complaint is that I supported Leliana as Divine, and yet somehow Vivienne ended up getting it. Must be a bug, surely. I hate that. I hate Vivienne. Ruined the ending narration. I thought Bioware learned from Dragon Age 2's busted endings.

Solas secretly being Fen'Harrel is... well, confusing. Guess it'll clear up in the sequel.

I did like that you get a scene with your romance interest at the end.

I just got Vivienne as the new Divine. What the hell? How did this happen?

This happened to me too, after I explicitly chose Leliana. It sucks.

I did like that you get a scene with your romance interest at the end.

I romanced Cullen, and after the 'romance' formally began, the first time I went to the war table, josephine and leliana started taunting Cullen about it, making snide remarks like whether cullen and inquisitor have enough energy to be at the war table etc, that was pretty cool.

Did you mean to quote me?

yeah, sorry, quoted the wrong sentence.

Ah I see. Yeah the romances were handled pretty well.

I just remembered a plot thread that I don't recall being addressed: After Grand Enchanter Fiona appears to meet you in Val Royeux and invites you to a meeting, in Redcliffe the real Fiona tells you that it wasn't her at all and that you never really met.

For the longest time I thought it was Morrigan in shapeshift form, but the game is over now and I don't remember that being cleared up.

Can anyone shed light on this?

This is my first DA game, so I´m not too versed with the lore. So please help me understand:
What's the difference in the game when you have to choose between Mage´s and Templars, and what side did you choose and why?

Flemeth's power come from a little piece of Mythal, one of the elven gods.

But Mythal along with another god was sealed in the heavens by the Dreadwolf, and thus the elves were caught off from their power. It makes sense that Solas came to collect this piece from Mythal. The question is.. did Flemeth die?

It seems to me that in the dragon age inquisition there is both human and elven gods. Corypeus said the golden city was empty and there was no maker, but when asking Sister Giselle about that, she speculated that the golden city was not for any mortal being, and that Corypeus as a human magister must have been in denial about what he saw.

Everything points to that DA 4 will take place in Tevinter. It's the only thing that makes sense. Ferelden and Orlais are over exposed now, and all the major organizations are covered now - Templars, Chantry, Wardens, Seekers, Circle of Magi..

I think DA 4 will cover Tevinter, Navarra (Josefines place) and the Por Avallon place were the Qunari comes from.

If you go with the Mages you go to redcliff and try and get their support. You find out that the head enchanter Fiona has done goofed and its up to you to correct it.

If you go to the templars you see the corruption that has unfolded the templars and find out some shocking truths about the head of the templars and the corruption caused by the consumption of red lyrium - An evil energy the Templars consume.

The set-up is from Dragon Age 2. In that game the circles of mages rebels against the Templars who are supposed to enforce the mages. Mages who go to deep into the fade can become abominations and kill countless people, so in Inquisition you need to choose a side.

I first went with the templars because thats what Cullen and Cassandra would approve of. On my second playthrough I went with the Mages. It's better to go with the Mages. You get a really cool story moment. the Templar one is good too though, but not as good as the Mages one.
