The problem is that the designers probably won't do anything unique with their SSJ hair design, and just slap a Goku wig on them (as seen with Kale). It's a shame that Trunks is really the only character to have unique hair for SSJ.

Prince Vegeta...born without the ability to grow a goatee like his father. Truly the biggest jobber in Dragonball. No wonder he has such a complex about 2nd rate saiyans surpassing him.
More importantly it's a merging of the two different Sayian transfomations.

I think mixing non traditional fighters with an expected cast could give us soemthing like:
-Goten and Trunks fighting as one character, that character can fusion for a limited time
-Master Roshi with a bulk up mechanic
-Piccolo going all out with stretching limbs and regenerating limbs. He can also tranform things
-Teen Trunks with sword shenanigans
-Great Saiyaman as a goofy character using props and other crap
-Mr. Satan using stuff like a rocket launcher, machine guns, jetpack, mis nonsense
-Captain Ginyu with its body possession mechanic
-Android 19 or 20 (lost count) that can absorb projectiles
-17 or 18 with unlimited energy, heavy zoning game
All of these could work with pretty novel movesets and they would make sense as proper entries

SS4 is so dope
The rest of GT not so much, to be honest you can get rid of most of it besides s17's design and the dragon saga, because that was actually a real consequence for over using the dragon balls as a get out of plot hole quick scheme.

That's because Super is a better series then GT is. GT is mediocre at best while Super is getting better with every arc.
I like it red, one because I'm biased as fuck and I like red. But two it was genuinly unique and kind of signified a power level far above and beyond anything they had reached before.
Its like SSB I like the hair changing to blue because its literal got ki, its something far off than what they are usually doing and it was signified via color change.
Also the reason that SS is yellow is because it was easier to draw, so, when toriyama isn't the one regularly drawing the manga, you start to get more interesting colors.

Super is better than GT, but neither are particularly great.
Both are schlock if you don't have nostalgia for the series, but Super has some fun schlock, after the first two horrible arcs.

It'd be the one other instance of "yet another Goku..." that I wouldn't mind at all!
Plus, that kind of Goku is likely the only chance we have of seeing an Oozaru rendered in Arc's graphic engine. I need that so badly.
I mean, let's not pretend there was any reason NOT to stop engaging with DBZ for at least a decade there.
That reminds me ...
It's weird that cell saga Gohan's hair stayed exactly the same shape and just changed color when he was super saiyan. It's like the only reason was because the artists/akira was afraid his hair would've looked an awful lot like a less spiked version of SS2 and they really wanted more of a visual difference. If anything, they could've just completely canned SS1 Gohan, made him never able to achieve it in the time chamber with Goku, and then just have him explode straight into SS2 when it naturally happened with Cell. That would've been pretty sweet actually.

I hated a bunch of things about GT,but the design (for both,classic and new characters) is light years better than Super

Toriyama's original idea for the SSGSS form was white instead of blue, but he decided to use blue because of Zamasu's white hair. Fun fact.

They literally Sell GT as pre order DLC in xenoverse, and have games in japan that despite super being out, SS4 versions of characters are a selling point.

Counterpoint: Dragon Ball Zenkai Battle Royale is/was a very popular arena fighting game in Japanese arcades that doesn't have any GT reps on the roster at all. They do have Bardock and Broly (as expected), though.
Xenoverse and Dragon Ball Heroes have one link in common: Dimps. And they seem to be the main ones that are a torchbearer for SSJ4, considering how much they love it enough to give Broly and Gohan each their own version of it in Heroes.
Starting at 7:00 in this video Scoville asks if Super, GT, or Dragon ball will be present and she does kind of give an answer.
