I just realized something. Did we ever clarify the chances of Super Buu getting in as a playable? Part of me feels as though that with the amount of attacks we saw from him (including the "Human Extinction" attack) that there would be enough to work with to make him playable. If the chances are there that we could have 3 Gokus, it wouldn't be that much more farfetched to consider the chances of three Majin Buus that can be on a team too.

I think his main gimmick (absorbing characters) would be hard to implement in this game due to how they do the models.

Also Kid Buu was in Extreme Butoden on 3DS and not Super Buu.

I really doubt we'd get three Majin Buus. You can't compare two forms of the protagonist and an arc villain that resembles him for plot reasons with three forms of a villain from the very same arc.

They could make unique movesets for all three though, but I don't think it'll happen. Looking at Arc Sys' previous games, out of the two evil Buus, Super Sonic Warriors only had Super Buu, while Extreme Butouden only had Kid Buu.

If anything else then, hopefully we will get to see a few good number of callback to Super Buu's attacks in Kid Buu's moveset then. Changes are slim of course, but it would be nice if we aren't going to see the three stages of Buu. I just thought it was something that had gone unaddressed.

Since the SSBlue saiyans are in, Hit and SSR Black are almost locks for the base roster. Beerus is a given.

Now I hope for Kid Buu, Majin Uub, GT Pan and Nappa (if he looks like his Extreme Butoden appearance) to make it in the game now.

To be fair, SSjB Goku's LVL3 is how he finished off Hit in the U6 Arc in the Super Anime and Vegeta's LVL3 is an attack he used on Goku Black. Don't think it confirms anything, but they are obviously looking at content from those arcs of Super for inspiration for the SSjB move sets at the very least.

His reasoning is mistaken, but SSB Goku has the Kaioken sequence leading to Kamehameha he used against Hit, while SSB Vegeta has at least two attacks taken from his rematch against Black.

You have to consider that Bandai Namco & ASW probably had to nail down the base roster with Toei & Akira Toriyama before they started development. That's not even mentioning how long it takes to create said character. So yeah, it's far too soon for any character introduced (or reintroduced) past the Future Trunks arc. We'll probably get ToP characters as DLC, but I highly doubt that we'll get any of them in the base roster.

• Super Sayian Blue + Kaio-Ken is pulled from the Universe 6 tournament arc, the attack in particular being one used against Hit.
• A good number of SSJB Vegeta's moves are pulled from the Future Trunks arc, most of which were used against Goku Black.

That said, I wouldn't say that Hit & Goku Black are locks, just pretty damn likely.

Fair enough, it just doesn't really line up in terms of the timeline. But to be fair, if Bamco & ASW they knew about the Tournament of Power in any major capacity, 17 would be his own character already & not an assist for 18.

That's not to say that they didn't know about Caulifla & Kale's existince per-say, but there probably wasn't too much to go on at the time.

I think the correct term is that Caulifla doesn't have a ton of cool stuff yet. We don't know what's coming for the rest of the Tournament of Power. And if we don't have a general idea now, it's unlikely that ASW had a general idea last year unless Toei & Akira Toriyama plans farther ahead than we give them credit for.

Logistically speaking, Gohan wasn't wrong. He even learned that lesson himself in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber (though it was Goku that told him about keeping your hair short for combat). Though from a looks perspective, the pigtails looked better on Videl since they helped her stand out a bit (even though I personally prefer short hair on ladies).

As for other potential females, I've mentioned a few times about the potential of Chi-Chi using Goku's old gear in addition to her own moves. Plus there's the popular request for Bulma in a mech.

Cauli right now has that suplex move, and of course her red ki blast. So yea, she gonna need some more stuff. Kale on the other hand is more or less fine, just depends if they really want to troll Broly fans lmao, though they obviously should wait and see what her regular Super Saiyan form can do first, as her Berserker form is essentially her Kaio-ken ability.

So yea, they should wait and be DLC options so they can more easily stand out, unless they're privy to stuff we're not.

That's basically the point. Whose to say when production started, but clearly it would be a fair assumption to make that in and around the end of the Goku Black Arc with what we saw with the Blues Trailer. As such, the only assumption I can make would only be in terms of seeing Goku Black, or even a Merged Zamasu as playable characters, but that's it (with Hit and Beerus). Outside of that though, we have not really explored that many of the ToP characters that fully yet, and if we were to go off of what we've seen, the "Trio de dangers" with a playable Bergamo (with his brothers as assists), Toppo, Kale and maybe even Ribrianne (with her two partners as assists) would probably have a better chance to be a playable fighter over Caulifila with what we've seen them do.

Honestly I'm sure Jiren will be amazing when he decides to start fighting, but we can only make assumptions for the time being until we actually see what they are fully capable of. The question I'd like to ask is what the chances would be that should Caulifila get in, would Kale also be playable? Or would she regulated as Caulifila's unstable assist?

Either way, I wonder if that could have been another possible reason to have set the release date as far out as possible? To perhaps (and this is really more of a wide shot speculation at best here, so don't quote me on this one), allow ASW to work with the animators of the Super episodes so that by the time the Tournament of Power could end either before the end of the year or before Feburary when the game comes out, that we could possibly see inclusions of a few ToP participants either as DLC or even possibly in the Initial Roster? It could certainly give Hit the chance to have a few more possible attacks before he is revealed after all.

As to other female fighters, maybe Towa has a minuscule chance. That character has gotten a lot more push than i'd have expected for such a random villain. I'd give her about a 0.1% chance to make it in DLC pack #4 but you know, there's always a chance lol

Lol, good point. That said, if Cauli and Kale were to get those unique moves later on, then you'd have fans clamoring for those new attacks, rather than having made-up ones.

Of course, that's always an issue, the fear of new forms/moves being on the horizon (Like with Goku and maybe even Gohan for example), but for something like the female Saiyans where there's no real rush, they can afford to wait and just have it be DLC imo

Bulma can always use those capsules technology. Let her toss it, each capsule is random and bring out different weapons and gadgets when she throws one. Like Faust and Teddie from Xrd and Persona Arena.
