I don't think Goten grew at all in the 5 years.

It's been a long time since I've seen the original kid goku dragonball series, but according to wikia Goku had ~ the same height until the age of 16, where he went training for a long time and grew much taller in that time.

Goku returns three years later at the age of 19 (considered himself 18), to meet up with his friends and join the tournament and grown into a young man that no one recognizes

Goku had a very minor growth between the first tournament to the 2nd tournament. Krillin said he grew and was hoping that he was taller than Goku. It's probably the artstyle though.

No Goten got shorter, his proportions here look taller compared to DBS. They just fucked up when they drew him. His legs are atleast 3 times his torso length. In super they are barely 1.5 times longer than the torso.

I don't see why the entire premise of db was a kid doing stuff. Hell more than half of dbz gohan was a kid doing stuff. When first introduced these characters loved the idea of fighting until it took a turn for some odd reason.

O at this point most definitely I agree. It'll be hard to make them switch it up all of a sudden and I'm probably one of the few who even want it lol. They've been comedy their way too long. The buu saga at least made them relevant and comedy style characters.

That's from that weird video/plastic toy phone combo.They use time travel as an excuse to visit random moments. They fight Cell at the end and he fucks off like some spiderman villain of the week

I don't think the guides really matter. The issue is that the last chapters of Z clearly establish in various scenes that they slacked. From Goku stating it directly to Goten clearly disliking being forced to train for the tournament and thinking that he has no chance against Buu.

They're generally decent, but we just had the two Goku vs Hit episodes which were clearly better than this one.

I don't see why they have to keep the end of Z Cannon. If it's not convenient, they will drop that shit. Its not like Toriyama is known for thinking things though.

The issue is that nothing of what they've said regarding the End of Z indicates any intention of dropping it. They might miss details and create contradictions (although so far the only real problem is Bulma's statement about not visiting in 5 years), but they seem to act like everything is still leading there.

Toriyama doesn't like how old Kuririn and Bulma look there. It's main reason they set BoGs in the "blank of 10 years". I can kind of see the point with Bulma, since her parts in BoGs and Super might look odd with her being middle aged, but Kuririn has hardly done anything, especially since Super's actual story started.

It was always odd to me that at the dbz epilogue or gt, Bulma never gathered the dragon balls and asked to look younger. She is constantly complaining about how Vegeta and Goku look young.

For Bulma it's an easy fix. Even at the end of Z, she made a comment that maybe she should wish to get younger. I don't think it's a bad thing either. Look at master Roshi, that man is over 300 years old. Bulma is the only relevant character from DB other than Goku anyways.

The epilogue is p clear that Goten doesn't really care much for training, and although his defeat at the hands of pan may have been humiliating, he still is only training cause Goku threatens him.

Dunno why there is this obsession with having people who don't like to fight to begin training again. The real problem is the people who liked fighting, like Ten, Yamsha and Krillin to be sidelined.
