It reminded me of Goku's habit of sleeping on Grandpa Gohan's crotch (reading order right to left):

What's up with kid trunks and goten not aging?

Future trunks was only like 17 years old , shouldn't their be mid point to his almost adult self. They should at least have an appearance of Teen Gohan's caliber.

My guess for Goten and Trunks not aging is one they probably don't want to make any changes to them between the end of Buu saga and End of Z, and any changes they make to them also reflects changes to Gotenks if they want to use Gotenks. For 2 characters that don't have a huge focus right now, that's probably not worth it for them. Has it even been that long from end of Buu to current Super?

I was only talking about EoZ in terms of gauging when the character design changes, not whether the story is canon or not.

It should be obvious by now that they don't give a shit about EoZ. They are probably waiting for a timeskip which we are due for.

Super aired the week after Kai did the Oob why would they not care about it at all? If that was the case they should have skipped those parts for kai

Super keeps referencing the end of Z though.

-Goten and Trunks slacking on their training and Vegeta complaining about it.
-Uub has been mentioned.
-Pan's love for flying.
-Gohan had his End of Z design (again) in the newest episode.

Even if you want to ignore Pan's original birth date and say that Gohan and Videl married and had a daughter right after high school (which is weird in its own way), almost three years must have passed since the beginning of Super.

-6 months after the Buu Saga they make people forget Buu.
-The Dragonballs are recharged by the time of Bulma's birthday.
-3 months pass between BoGs and the time Vegeta leaves to train.
-6 months pass between Vegeta leaving to train and Goku going after him.
-Freeza is ressurrected around here and 3 Dragonball wishes are used.
-The Universe 6 tournament has to take place at least one year after Freeza's resurrection since the Dragonballs had been recharged again.

Someone send this to toriyama for his referenvce

The Baby arc is better than anything so far in Dragonball Super. Even though the first space adventure arc is probably the worst arc out of any Dragonball saga, GT is the better show so far.

Oh definitely.

Interesting that Super is the one that actually feels like fan fiction.

I have the total inverse opinion to the GT comment. The space arc was the only good part about GT. Super >>>>>>>>>>>>>> GT

The vast majority of us share that opinion. Super is executing its ideas very well for the most part and is actually keeping in touch with what everyone loved about Dragon Ball and DBZ.

I do like the part of the Baby Arc where he's possessing people, because it puts a focus on Goten, Gohan, and Vegeta. Also Piccolo pretty much committing suicide when going against Baby Gohan was the dumbest thing in GT, Dad Piccolo would be ashamed of GT Piccolo, then again I wonder what King Piccolo's reaction would be if he looked to see how his successor was doing in taking over the world, and the first thing he saw was Piccolo babysitting Pan.

To GT's credit, Baby did call Gohan a strong host. He got his 10 minutes of fame.

Personally I'm enjoying super far more than GT. GT just felt like a bunch of ideas that could've been executed better to me. And other than the movie rehashes, no episode of super has bored me. Which is a lot more than I can say for many of the GT eps. But time will tell by the time this is all over.

Considering what GT decided to do with each arcI don't see how one can say that Super feels more like fan fiction lol.

That's how I feel, with all the "other universes", and the incredibly boring Blue Super Saiyan straight out of "original character do not steal", the terrible sense of humour and lack of adventure feeling, Future Trunks being back, the supposed "Black/Dark Goku", baby Pan being able to fucking fly and control ki, and tons of other stuff. Obviously not the most popular opinion here, but eh. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I feel like GT had better ideas but Super has far better execution. And execution >> ideas. I see where you're coming from but GT ultimately did not deliver in its (admittedly awesome) premises.

I just like the fights and art style more in GT. Baby's arc feels like it could fit in with the rest of the DBZ arcs, while so far none of the DBSuper arcs have that same feeling and it looks ugly with that 'shiny' art style. So yeah I can see why it feels like a fan fiction.

Well, I disagree, I feel like GT had a pretty good execution, especially during the space arc which was tons of fun for me and transported me back to my childhood with the sense of discovery, meeting new people and civilizations, etc. But we can just agree to disagree. ;)

Me too. Especially when it comes to character designs. Super feels too much like "Dragon Ball Z 2" for me.

fights in GT were horrible, not one memorable one, Hit vs Goku is already better than anything in GT and even that doesn't reach the heights of DB/Z.

It's hard for me to compare GT and Super so far, because most of Super has been rehashing the movies that came before it. So it's almost like the real question is whether the movies or GT were better. But on the other hand, the slice of life stuff and the tournament have been really good, so Super is off to a good start now that it's really and truly doing original arcs.

I'll reevaluate at episode 64!

I feel the Black/Dark Goku could be the thing in Super that has terrible execution, but it could also be handled really well, we know very little about it right now, which is both worrying and exciting.

Nothing can top Super 17 in terms of feeling like fan fiction. Also, I like the god forms more than SSJ4 personally.

The Super 17 arc was dumb in my opinion except for two things: Super 17's design, and seeing Android 18 freak out and cry over the death of Krillin. Loved that.

Also loved this reference.

I always took that as "shit we don't have a new manga to base shots off of anymore, let's just use the old stuff"

I don't remember many more of those cases throughout the series, and since this particular one also involved the Androids, and during the part of GT that pays homage to Dragon Ball Z, I assume it's a pretty good homage.

I've only seen bits and pieces of GT but I remember Goku going through 17 looking a whole like the shot of him going through Piccolo

GT isn't even remotely as close as being as good as Super. The animation in slightly better in GT (not by much however) but aside from that, nothing in GT really stands out other than some cool character designs. Characters like Beerus and Whis are infinitely more memorable and have a bigger impact on the franchise than someone like Baby or the Shadow Dragons did, and the humor in Super is much better than any of the humor in GT. The humor in GT lacks the deadpan gag style that we're so familiar with in Toriyama's works, with the humor in GT being merely weird shit for the sake of being weird (dancing aliens, haha, Trunks in a dress, hahaha). While on the flipside Super is full of it and when it isn't it has some genuinely funny moments like Goku punching the fuck out of Krillin in the face that instantly makes the filler stick out more similar to some of the better filler episodes of DBZ like the driving Goku/Piccolo episode.

Then there's the entire pacing of all the fights. Somehow, characters have gotten slower than they used to be in DBZ, yeti n Super you get a real sense of characters progressing with moments like Goku vs. Beerus and even the recent Goku vs. Hit fight featured stuff that went far beyond the power that Goku had at the End of DBZ. In GT, Goku got a new form that we're told is better than SSJ3, but we're never shown why it is or how it's better.

Disagree. So far I've found Super to be incredibly boring, and the sense of humor is actually pretty bad. I haven't found a single Super episode that was as funny as the one where Trunks dresses up as a bride in GT, for example.

She was in the end of Z and she kicked Goten's ass. She was basically a completely different character in GT, in Z she was pretty similar to Goku.
Isn't the end of Z non-canon any way? I remember reading the last 2 or 3 episodes were anime only and didn't show up in the manga. Or maybe it was just that a bunch of filler scenes were added.

Isn't the end of Z non-cannon any way? I remember reading the last 2 or 3 episodes were anime only and didn't show up in the manga.

Nah, they're cannon. The anime adds a few extra scenes like usual (like Pan beating Goten and anything involving Bra doing more than standing in the background), but they're very minor in this case.

In fact, anime Pan beating Goten just reminded me of how Goten was stronger than her in GT anyway.

Nope most of it happens in the manga. Goku tells Goten and Trunks that Oob will be looking to them for guidance or something, added things like that

Super has been great with the exception of the boring ass, drawn out retellings of the movies.

I hope the dub skips that shit and goes straight to the tournament, like they used to do back in the day.
