Fair argument but how strong/weak can humans actually be? Measuring strength for minor characters has always been near impossible because sometimes they get a hit on a big bad and do damage and other times the big bad doesn't even acknowledge the punch.

I think at the height of DBZ Krillin was stronger however now in Super he is definitely not. Either way none of the humans will ever match 18.

We've been getting Toriyama designs even for characters appearing in the middle of arcs before, like Zen'o and his bodyguards, but these episodes and the characters in them have had no Toriyama design sheets revealed, even though we've already seen designs for the Trunks arc, alongside his comments about it, while saying nothing about these stories. It's hardly "random". Even if he has some involvement that hasn't been publicized at all, it'd be much smaller than with the Universe 6 tournament and the upcoming Trunks stuff.

Krillin and Tien are totally different characters with different fighting styles. I tend to like Krillin more as a character and Tien more as a fighter. His Crane School techniques make him stand out compared to everyone else.
