Dragon Ball Super |OT2| June 12: Judgment Day

Guys, a conference is worth missing best friends' marriages. It's 3 to 10 days in an holiday resort/great touristic city, staying in a top tier hotel and eating (and drinking) outside all days, with your college paying for everything (aside the drinks
and the escorts
). Man if I miss academia for that!

This isn't DBZ it is dragon ball super, clearly characters like Jaco, Champa and probably future comedic characters won't be 'worthless'. That wasn't even the case in DBZ by the end with Mr Satan being one of the best characters.

you know what I meant I'm just used to calling the whole thing DBZ.

There's a reason I used involved in the fighting and not just fighting.

as far as I'm concerned world champion and destroyer of Cell, Hercule, was very much involved with the fighting in the buu saga, dude showed up intending to kick(assassinate) Buu's ass. Then he straight up tried to fight Kid Buu, saves Vegeta, and convinces earth to power the SB, he's right in the thick of it all, I call that involved in the fighting. Buu saga Hercule was the final form of saiyan saga Yajirobe, Namek saga Dende, Cell saga Tien, he came in with the ultimate clutch.

Poor Jaco's a punching bag that helps Bulma do the real work and Champa in his first real episode nearly destroyed the universe, he's got nothing to prove.

Nothing will happen to the Earth if they lose. They will just go to another universe. Goku brought this up in the show.

Goku cannot guarantee jack shit and he'll say anything to get approval to get the tournament going. Champa didn't even guarantee it. He said he just wanted it for the food and as Super has shown, it took Bulma and Vegeta's schmoozing to Beerus and Whis with Earth's finest Cup Ramen to win them over and not destroy the Earth.

But let's ignore the established relationship with Beerus and look at the other ramifications of a switched Earth.

  1. Dende and Piccolo lose access to their home, Namek.
  2. Jaco would probably stay in Universe 7 and his job at the Intergalactic Police, so goodbye that relationship between him and the Brief sisters.
  3. Say goodbye, King Yemma, Northern Kai and Supreme Kai.
Goku doesn't give a damn about the above though -- especially King Kai. He was asked to not provoke Beerus and he did it anyway. He's so over the fact that King Kai opened him up to new heights of powers. He didn't acknowledge when his gi was transformed to sport Whis' colors and symbol whereas he was grateful to King Kai for leaving Roshi's symbol on his gi all those years ago. He's become so rude with age.

The power is consuming his mind.

Antagonist Goku for the future?

Oh he did. During training, there were numerous times where Goku wanted to ease off and take a break but Gohan begged him to keep going and push him towards achieving SSJ. He pushed himself to the point of passing out due to exhaustion. The bottom line was that he was filled with determination to protect his loved ones where in the latest Super episodes? That moment flared up for a hot second, took some training with Piccolo and then err... Conference? I miss that drive that made him great in the Cell series.

Not to be "that guy" but all that begging stuff was filler.

Oh it looks like (tournament spoilers)
Goku vs. Botamo starts in episode 33 and will last just one episode... So he probably loses fairly quickly. The summary mentions he can't focus right away because he ate too much.

As expected

Well it wouldn't be DBZ/S if Goku didn't save the day so this suggests to me that the tournament will go tits up at some point.

Manga spoilers:
I mean we know that's already the case 'right away'. It's still a matter of if Botamo can beat him after that that's in question. That said, it is surprising to see how quick these fights are apparently going to go.

If it wa dbz this arc would last atleast 400 episodes.

Nah, I expect Goku to go Super Saiyan and win against Botamo and than easily lose against Frost, since next episode is Frost vs Piccolo.

Who gives a shit about Dende and Piccolo. First of all, they don't visit Namek. That was the decision Dende made when he became Kami. Piccolo doesn't give a shit either. Jaco losing his job doesn't matter. Who cares about the Kais too. He'll just have to find a new friend which is what would happen eventually with time anyways.

Yeah because tapping vaginas as a kid wasn't rude. lol Give me a break.

Goku the goat

There's 0% chance of Goku being an antagonist, he's fighting in a God's tournament of course everything else isn't important at all to a guy like him.

Maybe Jaco and the Galactic King will be unwittingly transferred to Earth, given how they are hanging out with Goku and the gang.

They would then fill EXACTLY the same role that these guys

Mango Spoilers
Maybe Goku will win and then let Piccolo sub in for him.
Kiwi spoilers
lol mango

I'm in the Goku beats Botamo, loses to Frost camp

My predictions for the tournament are:

I doubt Goku will lose to Botamo. He'll probably be pushed hard after underestimating him but will probably come out on top.

Frost will transform and then completely wreck Goku. He'll power down for Piccolo making it a more fair fight but will come out on top or will transform when things get tough.

Vegeta will come in and beat Frost but will lose in spectacular fashion to Cabbe. Wouldn't be surprised if he shows a new transformation for saiyans that Goku and Vegeta will aspire to achieve.

Monaka will come in and to everyone's surprise beat Cabba and Magetta before Hit finally takes him out.

Beerus argues with Champa that he deserves another fighter and here they could either have Gohan be the 5th fighter or have Goku fight again (this is far more likely). Goku eventually loses to Hit and Universe 7 loses the wager.

All speculation of course but this doesn't seem too far-fetched.

This all sounds very likely.

inbf4 the entire tourney goes to shit, Super DB's are used to wish that the Z-Fighters never encounter Beerus therefore making End of Z canon and god-ki power ups never to be found.

Jesus, there have been so many spoiler bars these past few pages. I'm so tempted to see them but I want to be surprised when I watch the episodes, so I'll resist for now.

Anyway, I'm not sure if people have already speculated this or not,
but for me it makes sense for Gohan not to take part in the tournament, because it seems likely that Universe 7 is going to lose the tournament and I would rather see Gohan sit out of it instead of jobbing to some OP opponent.

Let him join in later when he has an actual chance of beating them, whilst Goku and the rest can take the L.

This all sounds just, right

So you didn't like him before the Buu saga? He was forced into fighting and had to step up even though he didn't want to, but that's what always made him compelling and relatable to me. Of course watching the show as a kid, I would think "oh it would be so cool to be in that world and just get stronger stronger stronger", but even then I related it to a more realistic situation where i'm like "damn what if I had to train for war as youngster even though I didn't want to but I had to step up to save my loved ones. I respect this gohan kid for his plight"

Yeah pretty much. He just listened to everything his dad told him. I mean, there's some respect I give during the end of the Cell saga at least, but even then he's just fighting because he's told to. It's boring and uninteresting. I ain't into that.

But then Buu saga came around and he actually showed real motivation to exist as a unique individual with unique desires. THAT'S the interesting Gohan. If that's the Gohan we get to keep, I'll be happy. But so many people in this thread are asking for a return to Cell saga Gohan, and that is, in my opinion, the worst path for the character to take.

Gohan hyped for 10 seconds then sidelined again because of a conference lol. AT is such a troll.
I give 0 fucks for Gohan so that's OK with me.

I love that Vegeta is the star of the show now, and the most powerful.

This sounds p on point to me.

HOWEVER

If Gohan comes as the fifth fighter, do we still get a universe 7 loss? Will Gohan job again so the plot may move forward?

I think Goku gets a repeat fight.

If they do pick up Gohan, he will almost win the fight but either Champa tells Vados to take the SDB away or will have Vados mess with the arena/Gohan. If they cheat, Team Beerus will know something is up and Beerus and Champa will probably get in a fight over it. Vados takes the balls to U6 and they make the wish.

Personally, I think U7 will lose without Gohan, Earth gets switched and is attacked immediately. This is where Gohan shows off his power. Maybe even throw in Satan saying to the world that this his son in law that he has been training and can rely on him to protect them.

Gohan can win but Champa can demands a rematch since its a last minute addition or maybe he will ask to exchange the Earth for like 7000 years .

Its Dragon ball , any thing can happen. No one expected Ultimate Gohan to loss to Buu , Dead Vegeta to come back and fuse with Goku. Super Candy plan to save the kids . Goku choosing not to save the kids when Earth explodes etc. Part of why DB is so fun.

Sounds about right on the money.

I just realized this is the first time people have been able to speculate on new DB content, at least in the west. Back in the day there were always the badly subbed VHS rips and the few who had knowledge of what was to come, as well as all the promo material on the net featuring characters from further in the series. The future was already set in stone, so to speak. Now we have no idea!

I don't know. Toriyama hasn't been keen on
fucking up the tournaments; only in Buu a tournament is cut short earlier, and even that got a final fight. There are no jobbers in the teams to leave behind while Goku and pals go to a more interesting adventure. I mean...they would not leave Monaka behind, and Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo will want to go.

Me thinks it is very probable Champa and Beerus will get in a scuffle, but also that the tournament will have a clear winner and loser.

Personally, I think U7 will lose without Gohan, Earth gets switched and is attacked immediately. This is where Gohan shows off his power. Maybe even throw in Satan saying to the world that this his son in law that he has been training and can rely on him to protect them.

Yeah that's more like it. Except that
They haven't found the seventh super dragon ball yet, so they cannot switch Earths immediately. On the other hand, maybe they can exchange Earth without the SDBs. Maybe the seventh SDB is still in universe 6 or something, and that's why Bulma's radar hasn't picked up on it.

My predictions for the tournament

1) Gets inturupted by an unseen villian that steals the Super Dragonballs

2) Hit ends up being the bad guy of the arc and wins the tourney

Have a feeling that Hit is going the be the strongest out of the U6/U7 fighters. Would like to know about the U7 version of his race.

Either way U7 must lose to set off a trigger of events. If U7 wins than were do they go from there? If they lose than I can see a multitude of events unfolding.

Vegeta already said he wants to go to Salad. Kinda foreshadows U6 winning

Full summary.
The first match of the martial arts tournament is Goku VS Botamo, from Universe 6. But, immediately after starting the match, Goku can't put his mind to it because he ate too much. He somehow pulled himself together but, no matter what attacks Goku uses, Botamo isn't fazed in the least.

If it's like the manga then in terms of attack and speed Botamo is nothing compared to Goku, I'm going to guess his secret technique is entirely defensive and because of it the match ends in a draw.

My guess is Botamo can make himself extra slippery or something.

ahh ok, thanks. any news regarding animation staff? any changes...? ... >.>

-_-?
Yes it seems the next month should be good quality. I mean we've already seen improvement since the arc started and next episode looks to be drawn very well.
