Dragon Kong Country Returns 3D: new trailer

Is this game reason enough to purchase a 3DS XL? I never owned a Wii, so missed out on the critically acclaimed waggle version of this.

I don't remember this from the Wii version. Was it in?

Imo, it's one of the best Wii games, but also one of my favourite platforms ever. It's really amazing. This 3DS version has the original mode, an easier mode and 8 new levels. The only drawback seems to be a lower framerate than the original one.

...Did I see something like a mecha Donkey Kong near the end of the trailer or what?

Yeah, I think that was the only thing I didn't recognize, but I figured maybe it was something I was forgetting? It looks like it would be in World 7. Are there supposed to be additional levels in this?

Edit: I see that was answered above.

Was just about to spit my tea over the keyboard because of Dragon Kong bwahaha.

I literally 100% this game yesterday! This is such an amazing little piece of software, I adore every single little piece of its level design... if anything, graphic and sound design are the only two weak links, but everything else is rock solid (well, maybe the post-game content isn't that much,
I'm not too hot over the mirror mode, though
). I would really love to play it with a button for rolling!

Now I really want a game called "Dragon Kong Country Returns 3D". I'd probably be willing to overlook the massively downgraded graphics and framerate if DK suddenly gained the ability to transform into a dragon.

Man, it's so insanely jaggy. Still thinking about getting it, but it's really jarring.

The 3D trailer on the eShop dosn't look as jaggy. Videos make 3DS games more jaggier than they really are because they play on a higher resolution than the console.

Still sucks is only 30fps.

How can you even make the mistake of writing dragon instead of donkey?

What was going on in your mind OP? :P

Anyone else looking forward to easy mode? I got pretty far on my Wii copy before surge corrupted my save and I have no interest busting my ass to get back to where I was on the original difficulty. The Wii version is just slightly harder than I'd prefer.

or just larger versions of normal enemies as a boss fight

assets cost money, yo!
I guess my point is that the pre-rendered backgrounds (and sprites, of course) existed to fool people into thinking it was polygonal on a system that didn't normally do them. Not much of a reason to try and fool anyone with a polygonal look when systems can handle actual polygons these days, and you can do a lot crazier stuff with them being in realtime.

I could NOT beat those levels where you were on the little rocket and had to tap the buttons to go up and stop tapping to drop. Had to get my roomie to beat them.

Everyone's loveable ape is back for the next installment DragonBa...

What? Donkey Kong Country on a handheld? Take me back to the 90's.

See guys, it's pretty easy to be alpha-male, all you have to do is wear a tie, and pat your chest.

Been playing the Wii version of DKCR. It's really good, but why does DK have use that blow mechanism? I'm not into "DK-lore" but it doesn't fit a brutal monkey to be blowing flowers like a little girl.
