Well, don't know how much fully orchestrated music and voice acting cost, but I don' think it would have been too cheap.

They do a Symphonic Suite for every game in the series a little bit after the game comes out in Japan. They just put 8's Symphonic Suite that was already recorded in the US version.

Most of the remakes have included added parts of songs/based the OST from the Symphonic Suites to their OST's (see DQ3r, DQ4r, DQ5r).

The Symphonic Suite for 8 has been out since around last July (that's when I got the songs anyway).

This was one of my favorite games of 2005. A must own in my opinion and one the most fun games this gen. It is a true classic. I didn't have as much fun with it as, say Ocarina of Time, but it came quite close.
