What are you talking about? Pokemon D&P have some of the best first-gen SNES graphics around!Chris Michael said:Does anyone else find it sad that SE is putting WAY more effort graphically into this than Nintendo's own PKMN D&P?

Yep.. DS's biggest problem is texture filtering, if it had any MPH would look nearly as good as a dreamcast game.cybamerc said:It looks good but once proper screens are released I'm sure a lot of people will go back to bitching about the lack of texture filtering, low poly models and whatnot.
This is correct. Akira Toriyama does all the character designs and monster designs in the Dragon Quest universe.Nobiru said:I havent followed the DQ series much at all, but does the DragonBall guy do all the art for the games? he was used in DQ8 right? hes doing Blue Dragon as well isnt he?

Chris Michael said:I forgot he was doing Blue Dragon. Is it just a coincidence that he works on so many things with "Dragon" in the title? (BD, DBZ, DQ)

Doesn't matter. Not like they have a handheld they're supporting.jesusraz said:(or are they owned by Sony??).

No, cause those are sony owned/published entitiesjesusraz said:Thanks for that. Good to know! So games like Dark Cloud, Dark Chronicle and Rogue Galaxy could all feasibly head Nintendo's way in the future, if it proves to be of financial benefit?
No.1 said:These Dragon Quest Monster games are primary just that monster battle side-game in Dragon Quest VIII correct?
At first I thought the whole idea was pretty stupid, but after messing around looking for monster and using them in battle it became quite appealing.
If that's not what this series is about, then I'm stumped. Looks impressive from the tiny screens shown.

I have to tell you, I never really had the time to get into DQM2 or DQMCH, but I played the ever living **** out of the first DQM, and I thought it was terrific. Total fanservice for old-school DQ players with great music, lots of nods to previous games, and tons and tons of monsters to collect, breed and battle (the breeding system destroys Pokemon's IMO).duckroll said:That's not quite what the DQM games are about. They're traditional RPGs with characters and a storyline, but with a dungeon-crawling slant. The catch is that instead of having a party of characters, you catch Monsters and use them as your party. That is the only part which is similar to the normal DQ monster catching tournament minigame. The games themselves are not tournament based but real RPGs, it's just that the battles use a monster party.
