The legal line with Level 5 in it is for the original game. Still no confirmation that they're the developers of the new game. The fact that no developer is explictly mentioned makes me think that this has been farmed out to another development team that isn't Level 5.

It'd probably be Chunsoft, they usually end up making the Fushigi na dungeon spinoffs...

The developer's actually Cavia, of Drag-on Dragoon 1-2 fame. This is evidently their final game for Squre Enix, there's maybe some bad blood between them resulting in Cavia joining AQ Interactive and working with MistWalker Studio on Cry On.

Game looks fantastic imo. It's a shame Squeenix let Cavia slip through their fingers, they'd probably make a mean DQ6 remake.

Interesting that people are speculating that Cavia are "leaving" Sqare Enix. They've always been freelance/a team for hire and they go where the money is (they did Ghost in the Shell Standalone Complex for SCEI plus a few Dragonball games and Steamboy for Bandai). I'm not surprised they're going to do stuff for MS, since they're a bit of a bottomless coffee pot in Japan these days.

Well, Bandai and Square Enix were both Cavia investors iirc. They have a pretty good pedigree, with key staff from Namco, SEGA and Climax Entertainment. Drakengard was pretty good too, I'm excited for Yangus and Cry On.

It's not like they've "not been credited" before on other people's games (which some people say "is a sign that there's been a split!") They're not "credited" on most of their other work for SCEI, Capcom and Bandai so it's not that big a big deal. Anyway, will be interesting to see what they do with Yangus...

Why is this? Cavia still haven't made a decent title considering thier last 3(Drakengard, GITS, Beatdown) were awful. You can add to the fact thier 360 title looks like something that should be in the reject pile; something which is kinda sad for a game that has a great concept going for it.

If square enix really is severing ties with them, I don't give them any wrong. If I was SE, I wouldn't want a developer that have amassed a catalouge of bad titles on my money.

Drakengard was pretty good, it's one of the better PS2 ARPGs actually. The same team is handling Cry On, I can't wait to see how it turns out with big budget MS funding and superlative MistWalker design.

GITS was shit tho and Beatdown was definitely flawed. Dragon Ball DS is pretty good by all accounts though and Yangus looks top notch.... Cavia's uneven overall, but they definitely have promise.

why would be cry-on in the reject pile? only few good screens (ppl argued wheter it was cg or not) and an reallly interseting concept(shadow of colossus-esque emo action rpg gameplay ) was revealed.i'm not hyping the game or anything (nor am i a cavia fan in particular) but i don't see whay you would say such thing? Do you know some stuff that we dont?

Not Cry-On, Bullet Witch. If you've seen the famitsu scans, the game look like crap and probably plays like it to.

Well, Bullet Witch is from likely from the "B" team. Cry On is by the Drakengard team, which is definitely promising. Is a developer only as good as their worst team?

Drakengard had a lot of potential, but I just hope it comes through in Drakengard II because it didn't fully shine in the original game. The storyline is very strong, though.
