Dragon's Nest Open Beta - July 26th

THe SEA beta has a lvl 32 cap and pvp. I'm thinking of giving up on Nexon. They pretty much nerf everything. The wings have been reduced, mino's nest you are lucky to get more than 1 drop, and no pvp.

I'm not real worried about what's going on in SEA, but I hope that Nexon has plans to move that content out before the end of this newbie event. September 7th is way too long of a wait with this content, especially when the last event gave an incentive to get to the level cap by the 9th of August. That is a lot of people with almost nothing to do.

Seriously? I have no problem with acrobats in my group. That's where a lot of the damage is. And for the most part the classes are versatile enough that people shouldn't need to pick and choose like that.

I've really slowed down playing... there's just nothing to do. I got a Sorceress to level 10, but I've found that I'm not motivated enough to invest my time in more than one character right now (I might start a Warrior just to see though). The Minotaurs nest because it's a pretty fun fight IMO, but not when it's the only thing to do.

Also is anyone else missing their (affectionately called) "shitty" wings? I met the new event requirements but I haven't seen anything yet. I'm under the impression that the issue is fairly widespread, too. =/
 
well i am finally lvl 15 priest and loving it....this game is great in small chunks but i am sorry everyone is not having fun at the moment, there is alot of potential in this game but it kinda sucks that there isnt enough content..i really want to play PVP, i mean jeez you even get a quest to pick a arena server only to find out its no implemented yet lol

Like xelios said, it's Nexon and it is in Open Beta. SEA versions love to catch up as fast as they can to the main servers but NA ones like to take it slow with cherry picked updates, slowly catching up for over 3 years.

Than again, NA operators do have to deal with the fact that most of those territories don't have to work with places as big as North America and maybe the programmer teams aren't that use to those funny little bugs that happen as they localize the games.

Still, I think of this as an Open Beta and it's just here to show us a bit of the game as they gear up for the full release that should have more of the meat and potatoes, hopefully.

And when I say hopefully, I mean lets hope it's not another DFO 1 year Open Beta with no real content updates for over a year with unique experiences like: 1 life token, missing quests, laggy connections, auto banning, extra grinding, no level 60 level cap for almost 2 years and of course bugs.

Not much to do right now, it's nice to play here and there to do a few places and make a few bucks for future equipment.

About your mage, unless you can deal with the terrible elementalist class, I'd make the much better Mystic.

Ah the open beta wings, I believe a lot of people are having problems with that. I got my wings about a day after they gave them out, one person I know got it about 5 days after. I think the forums have a thread on it, maybe check it out.

SEA (with access for EU players) open beta starts tomorrow 2:00 pm gmt+8.
client is already available.

i just hope the lag will not kill the game for EU :-/
 
I really hope they change the drop rate in the Minotaur's nest. I really hate that they're trying to get people to repeatedly farm it, to a ridiculous extent.
 
Finally hit 24 on a third character, with a fourth at 23. Not sure how much longer I'll play without new content.

Anyways, anyone want to run Mino? Loots bad but I still find it pretty fun.

On the DN NA Facebook page they linked a G4TV trailer from Gamescom (find it here) which says "August 31st" as the official launch date. What I'm hoping is that the launch content comes out about a week before the official launch, so maybe around the 24th.
 
Anyone know if later updates will add the ability to have more than 4 character slots to an account, even if it's with a cash shop item?

I believe you're stuck at 4 a server with no ability to get more. Wait a year or two, I'm sure they'll make one, pssh.

It doesn't sound likely. They might go up to 5 per server once they release the Academic class here, but who knows how long that will be.

Maybe I'll buy that cash shop item and switch jobs from a Swordsman to a Mercenary. Swinging a giant axe or hammer seems more satisfying than a swinging a great sword.

Does it actually let you switch your profession? I thought it just gave you all your skill points back to reassign.

Perhaps I'm thinking of a different item.

There's SP reset scrolls (which refund all the SP you have spent on your class and sub-classes), and there are apparently also scrolls that allow you to change your sub-classes. The latter scrolls are not available in the NA version and may not be until the update with second sub-classes is implemented at the earliest.

Do you know if we will get a SP reset with the third class unlock?
 
Um, you can't switch your job. I mean, once you choose your subclass, Swordsmen or Mercenary, it sticks. Although Wallach says kDN and cDN has a sub-class reset scroll, there is no such scroll in naDN.

Unless you mean leveling up a Mercenary?

No, I meant those scrolls in kDN and cDN if/when they ever come out here. I guess I should have worded my post better.

Yeah, that's probably the smartest idea, but I like having all my characters on one account.

Pretty much any MMO charges a lot for those kinds of services. It would definitely be wiser to just start a second account if your slots on Argenta are already full.
 
I hope they take a Vindictus-like approach where there are a shitton of updates after awhile.

Also the number of bots is fucking ridiculous. Seems like everyone pays for gold now cause everything is so fucking expensive.
 
So the Sea open beta started today (accessible to europe).
Anyone else playing it?

I always wanted to try making an OT for this, but if you want to then you can make it instead.
 
if we make an OT maybe we will get more people to play? the sucky part is im on elena...but maybe ill make an alt on argenta if more members are going to jump in

Doesn't matter to me. Not sure if anyone else out there is already working on it, all yours if not.
 
So there's a Bunny exploit that allows you to get multiple clicks on a bunny. The video of the team demonstrating the exploit couldn't pick up the extra rewards though, but others might be able to? The market is going to be flooded with Epic plates and inflated prices if it does work and knowing Nexon it will be awhile before it gets fixed like Orbis PQ rushing in MapleStory.

gold bunny or silver bunny? I've only gotten gifts+mino pass on the silver ones..

Both. It basically lets you get more than one click on a bunny in a single run. In the video, the player got a gold bunny (grumble grumble grumble) and the person doing the exploit was able to get a ton of epic items out of the bunny but couldn't pick them up. Other people are claiming that they are able to pick up the items before leaving the dungeon though.

Eh, I posted it cause it already has 300 views since he posted it on the official forums and I don't think people are lurking this thread for exclusive NeoGAF Dragon Nest news so the number of exploiters isn't going to explode solely because of the video being posted here. However, if anyone does take issue with the exploit video being posted here I'll remove it from my post.

Sad thing is Orbis rushing PQ, IIRC, was also an exploit by manipulating or creating artificial laggy connections and no one was banned for it initially so I don't expect there to be mass bannings over people exploiting this either. Hopefully I'm wrong and exploiters do get banned.

There are barely any superb enhancement plates on the market. When I get back from work I expect some sort of boom.
 
I ran into the Gold Bunny twice yesterday doing Dimension Rabbit runs. Ended up getting a Superb Icy Shards for Elementalists and a Superb Lightning Relic for Priests. Also wound up getting a Superb Triple Slash for trading in 1000 fragments to Baily also. All in all, a good day I think. No glitching.
 
Any advice on the first job change as an archer?
The npc starts asking me questions:s do they decide what job I get or what?
Or do I get to pick for myself?

I want to play a job that is good at aoe and ranged damage, and is fun to play (if there is such a thing).
A nice flow to it (think BC wow warrior) would be nice too, not too repetitive or 1-2 ability spamming either.

Any suggestions?

Go sharpshooter if you want to be ranged DPS.

The NPC does let you choose your job; the questions she first asks before your actual test are just...filler I guess. Regardless of how you answer her you still ultimately have a choice on what class you want.
 
What's the most OP class right now? Cause them Mystics/Elementalists and the guy that shoots down a huge cross seem freakin strong.
