Drake is the fakest rapper in the game

Like really, how do you put out a song called "Started From The Bottom" acting like you went through all this poverty and hardship before your career took off when you started out as a semi-successful child actor? It's fake as fuck, the guy was so obviously manufactured by the record label.

At least Rick Ross was interesting.

If it's a game and everything is a front... then how is it faking? I've got to say that I find the macho posturing and obsession with street cred that seems prevalent in main stream hip hop tiring.

Rick Ross IS entertaining, but since he used to be a security guard I can't take him seriously either.

GOAT?

Not even a security guard, a CORRECTIONS OFFICER :I I can't believe everyone seems to have accepted it and moved beyond it. How are you going to pretend to be a badass drug lord when you were keeping those dudes locked up?

Started from the Bottom is such a shitty song, too. Terrible beat, terrible lyrics, yet people eat it up. What the fuck is wrong with people now?

Agreed, what an overrated turd.

Rick Ross is fake as fuck and not that interesting at all but did maybe have a good song or two but if you heard one you heard them all. I do like that song he did with Freeway in 08 though.

Kanye is pretty damned fake as well. What a weird dude.

I'm truly quite bemused by his fame.

He has terrible lyrics, just outright foolish at times. He sounds nasal as fuck. He aesthetically challenged and he's obviously plastic as fuck.

Yet he's championed as some amazing rapper by people who don't know better and clearly don't want better.

I had some weird dream last night about... well, who cares what it was about. Anyway, I woke up and thought it was interesting and considered writing it down.

But then I thought, "keeping a dream journal is something Drake would do."

Guys, I don't know the first thing about rap since the days of Yo! MTV Raps! and like Biz Markie and shit but this thread has me rollin'.

This Drake shit is hilarious.

There's a Toronto radio station that has an almost weekly campaign about how shitty Drake and his music are.

It's hilarious, but also sad and confusing at the same time because people are actually buying his stuff.

Because all rappers pretend to be things. Ice Cube raps about prison life and being a killer and he's never even been arrested. Same with Dre. Believe it or not, Jay Z is not some big drug kingpin either. Half the shit 2Pac rapped about wasn't his own. These guys are story tellers. They are characters.

That's too real, you gotta fund a happy medium. Not as fake as Drake, but not as real as Tech.

I think you guys need to stop caring so much about the realness of someone whose job it is to create and entertain. This is music we're talking about here, not documentaries.

I saw the "Started from the Bottom" video for the first time a few days ago (late night on MTV).

That part when he was dancing next to the car was one of the most ridiculous things that I have ever seen.

It's almost like he was trying to make it look as ridiculous as possible. Almost.

Some might even say that most rappers aren't really what they portray to be. I personally believe Rick Ross when he says he oversees the shippings of tons of coke. Or Jeezy when he talks about killing people. I mean why would they go on record and risk getting caught (they're obviously too smart and well protected to ever get in trouble with the law despite being true crime lords) when it's all lies. Makes no sense to me.

It's suspension of disbelief. Most of us in this thread know that just about every rapper is fake. But their personas and how they carry themselves, as well as most of their past, makes you believe that they could do (or have done) half the things they rap about.

There's none of that with Drake. Dude walks and talks tough, but there's nothing to make you think that even DRAKE believes half the shit he's saying. It's like watching a dude playing dress-up in his parents' clothes.

Gucci Mane is very, very real

I like a few of Drake's songs. But I will say this: He looks like the least intimidating person ever to grace music. He has the ultimate baby face.

But Drake is not that kind of rapper. Yeah he says shit like "catch a body" line but its done more in the braggadocio/MC way than anything else. You don't hear him talk about overseeing drug shipments or shit like that. How is he different from Eminem in this way? Em raps tough too, but who is he intimidating with his bleached Caesar and Winona Ryder-esque physique?

Drake is not trying to be the missing member of the wu tang. He's more of an ll cool j type if anything.

If you don't care about these guys' lives you're missing out on what makes most rap albums special.

For example, look at good kid, m.A.A.d city. If you're not listening to the story Kendrick tells throughout it you're basically missing the point.

We have the same username and opinion. This can only end in one way.

Also, both The Game and Rick Ross are much "faker" than drake.

Lol no. Game is not fake.

Gucci is the only rapper in the game right now that I'd be legit scared of. If they knew about his life he'd get the 'lectric chair.

Don't forget about Waka flocka flame, who was basically Gucci's hitman until he became a rapper.

To be fair, Drake never ever presents himself as some sort of tough guy, the guy both sings and raps and rarely tries to look intimidating. Its like saying Will Smith is the fakest rapper, he never made a song talking how hard he was, that was never his shtick.

Rick Ross (who i do like) at least does love to pretend he is some sort of drug lord, after stealing his alias from a real drug dealer

Even LL had mama said knock you out, drake throws champagne at people...cream puff.

So Drake is fake as fuck; not real like the rest of "the game"

the game owned by giant record companies and corporate sellouts

I am always surprised when I hear that a man listens to Drake. His music is catered towards women so much it's hilarious.

On another note, I'm referring to Bron as "The Guy On the Left" for the entirety of the upcoming nba season.

"The Guy On the Left had a triple double last night."

"You see That Guy On the Left catch that 'oop? "

I like it.

yep, Game is as real as is gets. One of the hardest ninjas in the game. If you say his name 5 times in a row he appears out of nowhere and chokes you to death with his red bandana.
