I read a bio book about Lebron before, and he did have a pretty rough past (nothing huge like drugs or anything, just family issues etc). Nothing major but it was rough for the guy, too bad I read that book like 6-7 years ago so I don't remember much.

I don't blame you though since you admitted you didn't know who he was anyways.

Who's calling Drake soft? A bunch of people on the internet? Okay well you know what that's worth. Who else? Other rappers? Other hip-hop artists? Other musicians who make music primarily for teenagers?

Man most everyone in the game has put down their weapons and foreswore violence years ago to make money fronting on a Justin Beiber track. Everyone in the game is getting doughy in the middle. Hard cases are truly hard to find.

Singling Drake out is silly. It's silly business.
 
Bone Thugs in Harmony also had that awesome song with Pac with the gunshots and erething. So hard when I was in high school. They had that comeback years later and did a song and video with Phil Collins that was softer than baby tissue. They actually have a song on the ASAP Ferg where they spend the whole song talking about praying and Jesus. They fake as fuck too.
 
The problem with Drake isn't his lyrics or his message but that he tries too hard to convince listeners that he's being genuine about it all. Eminem is 10x worse, specifically during his earlier Slim Shady days, but his delivery was so disarmingly comical that listeners knew he was just talking shit.

Drake never comes off as hard. The fact he be dropping slow jams shows that. Don't get why people try to knock him for something he's been doing since Day 1. It's not like he was trying to be like Tyrese and start acting all gangster after he was in Baby Boy. Motherfucker, you released Sweet Lady ( which is the shit) and were walking down runways in Paris. The fuck you doing.

With that said, most of his stuff is meh. But if putting him on gets the females happy, the fuck it. I'll put him on.

Bizzy is fucked up period. Them dudes werent fake i think they just realized they couldnt keep doin that shit after they got paid and had hits or they were gonna be dead.

Every rapper is a musician. They're all more likely to load up pro tools than a gun. Drake might be softer than most, but what exactly is a hard rapper? Someone who gets into fights at da club?

Please they got a record deal had money had a bunch of weed carriers in Mo Thugs and still released that double album that with half the tracklist being songs threatening violence. I mean i do believe they smoked a lot of weed, which was half of their appeal to me but I don't actually believe that members of Bone Thugs N Harmony have bodies on their record. Maybe some of the weed carriers in Mo Thugs but most of those people are just people from the church choir or cousins.
 
Drake is like the Linkin Park of rap. Most people listen to him, most people are embarrassed that they do.

His mom was off banging every dude in sight and he had to bounce around friends houses because of it, but lets be real dude had tons of fame and was driving around a Hummer at 16 he didn't exactly have the roughest of lives. He and drake are probably the same in the regard.

Yea, but what does the color of his shirt or whether he's trying to act hard have anything to do with his music? It's like you people prefer rap to be the WWE of music genres. This is why hella people int he Kendrick thread completely missed the point and thought it was a diss record from the start. I don't even know why so many people who seemingly like rap dislike ICP. It's not that different really.
