I played basketball with him in high school, the guy's family was always loaded. Even before rap he was doing Degrassi, which was a paid gig to be on a popular television show. In fact, I'm pretty sure he dropped out at grade 11 to pursue it full-time (I can't remember, he just disappeared from class at one point). The high school we went to was and is located in a very wealthy area.
