Drakengard 3 is coming to the west - $49.99, 2014 release

This is lame....

When will my credit card be charged?

For purchases of physical products, you won't be billed until your product is shipped. This includes any preordered or backordered products. If your items are shipped separately you will be partially billed each time a product is shipped.

Then why the hell was I charged!?

I ordered, but it was a little wonky (up to Digital River standards!)

First off, I would log into your Square Enix account first if you have one, then go to the store This will get you around this message (The checkout process is not currently available. Please try again later)

After ordering, like a few of you, I did not get an e-mail confirmation. You can confirm your order here.

Now hope and pray that the gods shine upon thee & get your preorder out within 2 weeks of the release date...

Big reminder guys: Make sure your credit card is still current at the time of the game's release. If your card expired, they don't give you heads up in advance they just outright cancel your order. So if your card changes between today and release, call them up to update your CC info. Don't expect Amazon levels of customer service

Yeah, that was from logging in.

Trying to make a new account gives me a "Password cannot be only alphabetic characters, only numbers, or only symbols " error, no matter what I do.

EDIT: Apparently what that message means is that it needs alphabetic and at least one numeric character.

Try going back to the square enix homepage and logging in with your regular account, THEN going to pre-order Drakengard 3. I was able to login to my account that way and went to the checkout with my logged in account.

Digital River!

When a company does a digital-only/shitty-website release like this, I wonder how they expect it to sell?

Like, between this and the new Phoenix Wright, do the smaller numbers they'll get generate more money what a physical box release (with a much smaller profit margin, of course) would earn?

Just got this in an email.

Can't say no to a waifu murder simulator. I'd usually import a physical copy from the US if Europe's only getting it digitally, but from the comments in this thread that doesn't seem to be an option.

They'll know pre-order numbers ahead of time and won't end up with a ton of unsold copies.

I wasn't at all expecting this to come over so I'm pleasantly surprised. No sign of a (limited even) physical release in the PAL region sucks but I'm happy that the game's getting a English release.

Well, just got spoiled on drakengard 3's ending because guide leaks. (I hope there's more endings, but thanks 2chan).
I'm not going to preorder until I get a solid release date.

Ok, they say its a preauthorization charge and not a full one. Money will go back on my card in.....five days....yay! Why can't they just preauthorize one dollar or something like USPS when changing addresses? At least the Digital River lady was nice, and not someone I can barely understand from India so I'm not too mad about it now. It pretty much kills my Pokemon money though....time to go cancel that preorder....

Maybe Gamestop will carry it?

Oh well, there's always digital

I wish. I love preordering stuff on Gamestop for the most part.

I refuse to pay $49.99 for digital games so it's either dealing with Digital River for me or ignoring the game outright.

It's great that we're getting it. Don't get me wrong, I am really happy.

The good news is shittified however with the knowledge that fulfillment is through Digital River. I don't get why official stores use DR fulfillment service. For Canada would it also be DR handling it, or does that make a difference? I still remember the horror of the Ni no Kuni release and how every stage of handling that issue was riddled with incompetence. Made worse, of course, by the fact that there was no other legitimate way to get that collector's edition stuff without importing extra copies of game from other territories, or buying from an ebay scalper.

So it's certain that physical copies won't be available any other way, and not that it's just going to be a special version exclusive to SE shop? If so that's pretty sad.

How did DR handle the FFXIV CE? Any better?

I want the physical edition of the game, and this is the only way to get it. I'll take my chances and then complain if necessary.
I recall some people having an issue, but it must have at least been notably better than NNK since not many people talk about having issues.

Wonder what the chances of this coming to Vita in the future is. I'd prefer a copy on Xbox or PC but I doubt that would happen :(

I would be super excited, that would mean I can get the game cheaper. It would also mean I can have a copy on release day for sure. You are right about digital, I will go that route if I really have to. :P

Well, I put a pre-order down even though I currently don't have any money for it. Hopefully, I will have money in 2014.

Good lord, what have I done.

Very glad to see this is coming out, here's hoping for a good and true localization.

/edit: no physical release in Europe? Fuck that shit. SE also doesn't ship to my country. To eBay we go I guess...

Hopefully the voice acting is on par with Nier's quality, that's all I want

With all the annoying female voices out there in jrpgs though I'm skeptical on them getting 6 out of 6 decent ones for the sisters

What's the chances of the physical american version working in Europe land if ordred?

Yeah, no. Digital River is not getting any more $$ from me either. Awful company. So if thats the only way to get the retail version, I'm not buying it.

Mad salt going on.

We're getting the fucking game localized at a lower price point. Nier didn't have dual audio. Apparently nothing is good enough for some people.

To be fair, most people in this thread are annoyed at having to deal with a skep company to get a game. Had it not been for the fact that their online store is the only place selling physical copies of this game I wouldn't even bother dealing with Digital River after those horror stories with NNK. I'm willing to take my chances a bit for this though.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen a Japanese game localization not have a few people asking "dual audio?" even when its from companies known for not having much dual audio.

I placed a preorder earlier today, I'll take my chances and deal with the problems IF they happen. I'm just excited that SE is bringing the game over. Heck, maybe some people not placing orders will make my chances of a problem less likely to happen.

I have sealed copies of 1 and 2 in my backlog. I suppose I should get to those at some point if I plan on buying this.
