Driveclub delayed, PSN+ replacement is Contrast

Bought the PS4 for my son...my PS4 would be years off still as I have an arseload of backlog on the ps3 to work through....I was really only looking forward to trying out DriveClub on it so disappointing for me...thinking I'll pick up GT6 for PS3 now instead.
 
I can't imagine a genre more boring than arcade racers so I'm happy with the turn of events. I'm glad Sony didn’t join the cheap crap club.

I want to play Contrast so that's a fine replacement, I don't really care about Drive Club.

You know the Miyamoto quote, 'A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad'.

Resogun looks very impressive, but it's an indie title and can't stand against those 3 Xone exclusives.
 
I wonder if Watch Dogs and DriveClub are just the start, perhaps there's more delays on the way.

This happens every launch though, games always get delayed at the last minute. If anything, it shows that Sony has high hopes for the DriveClub franchise, otherwise they'd be happy to just rush it out for launch. It does make PS4's retail launch line-up seem that bit weaker though, but at least they have a ton of downloadable stuff to fall back on.

XB1's launch line-up definitely wins for me though, even though bizarrely I'm still considering cancelling my XB1 pre-order and keeping my PS4 order. GAF, you did this to me.
 
All things considered, this is actually a pretty level headed thread. I hope Rushy and Evo take heart and blow us away early next year.

And then make a Motorstorm HD trilogy as their next game (Motorstorm 1, Pacific Rift, and Arctic Edge - not Apocalypse)

This is a huge blow for Sony. I almost feel like Sony jumped the gun on their system and launched it in response to Microsoft with a bit of insider knowledge perhaps that wasn't accurate. Though I do think the initial system did surprise Microsoft they're now able to counteract. Launching without a racing game is almost suicide for the mass market. Will see how they do now.

It would take a lot to get me to buy an xbone and this is not it. The retail games you mentioned are all looking quite underwhelming graphically. All are sub native 1080p except for Forza. I'm not falling for Microsoft's smoke and mirrors again.

Need for Speed is a much bigger series than Forza sales wise. Much bigger, substantially even.

You were simply wrong and now you are backpedaling. My advice to you is to lean on Chinners post and act like you posted that silly post on purpose.
 
The PS4 just shot up to the top spot in the video games bestseller list over at Amazon UK. It's been hovering around at #5 for a good while. Delayed DriveClub does a better job of selling PS4s than launch-title DriveClub apparently.

Why are so many people calling the service PSN+, not PS+? I just don't understand.

I don't like the delay either but hey, I have exams in early January so I wouldn't have the time to play it all in 2013.
 
i guess i will buy either need for speed on ps4 or forza on xbox. still didn't pre order any. was hoping to play Drive club because it looked to me like a next gen sequel to PGR. and i loved that game so much :/

also, from Drive club to Contrast... really ? horrible.

How about: Killzone, Knack and Injustice? they are all retail titles unavailable on XB1. You seem to find retail titles that you can't play on the competitors machine important.

Yeah there is a fair few games we aint seen a whole lot of so far, infact outside of kz ryse and ac4 we barely seen anything of the others.
 
SO you guys are disappointed that Sony are giving us TWO FREE GAMES, man when did

gamers become such entitled brats. Seriously they don't have to give us anything, not only

did their console come in $100 dollars cheaper but offers two free games and that's not enough

Fuck, I got excited. I didn't think Bastion was THAT good but it still was pretty great.

I don't know, maybe Contrast will still be great. I'm getting it for free so might as well give it a try. I'm way more excited about Resogun.
 
If this one launches in 5 months time and they haven't sorted the framerate then they've shot themselves in the foot twice. It's got to happen surely?

This is one thing I find really weird, There seems to be a common theme of the People buying a PS4 jumping on this one now but these people have never so much uttered a word in any previous shmup topics or likely even battered an eye at a genuinely brilliant shmups of the last 10-15 years like Zero Gunner 2, Ikaruga, Border Down, Ketsui, Gradius V etc

I think if people tried one of those they'd be more impressed than an HD update of Defender.
 
I know it's just a bunch of trolls, but enjoy pretending Gamescom and TGS never happened.

Because last I recall, there was only one company that announced 15+ new games for 2014 respectively at those shows, and,that company wasn't called MS.
