Driveclub PS+ edition was up, now down

Was it going to be always online, free to play, sim, etc? They didn't know what they were going for the whole time and it shows in how the game feels and plays, I owned it.

If you just want to race without all the online BS, it's a pain in the ass to do anything.

I was responding to someone criticizing the game developer for what looks like an administrative snafu with the store listing. That's totally separate from any quality problems with the game itself.

I was all ready to play Driveclub and Batman today, oh well.

What are the chances they'll put it back up when the store fully finishes updating later today?

so I downloaded it.

when i clicked play i just kind of froze on the evolution studio logo with the home menu music continuing to play. Restarting ps4 and trying again.

I have the initial download complete, while that was downloading the 10.6gb update file was added to the download list, but now there's a 15.7gb Application Data file downloading as well, so the total size will be 25gb or so, even though PS+ Edition description said 14gb or so.

Might have been an error and allowed the full game download?

The PS+ Edition is the full game, just with content gated off. So it makes sense that you need the full game size. Application Data is the background download.

Regardless of the game version you install, since it is an online game, all versions have to install all assets so you can see others online if they purchased something you don't (your game and machine has to load up their assets from other players to be visible to you). So even if it is the free version, I expect we'll d/l everything they release for it.

Other way around, people hyped up the idea of the PS+ edition as something other than not a full version of a game and since it's been an enigma has been used as a scape goat. I can't fathom what someone's progression through the game is to play through it but also be encumbered by the online features. I'm not even sure the first thing you'd touch on if you were trying to actively avoid them.

Wait, 2 years late they finally deliver the ps plus version, but it was just a mistake?

I bought the game last week and the claim that it's a pain in the ass to do anything is complete bullshit.

I remember Evo saying the free version will have all the modes available just not all the cars nor tracks. Works fine for me. Also, OP has info on this.
