DRIVECLUB - REDLINE Expansion Pack Preview

In my dreams, a wild new car class appears

Featuring older Lambo's, F40's and the like.

Rushy plz

It would be perfect for a car pack to devote all of its 5 cars (or 2 extra like the previous one) to creating a new class for Classics or whatever. Just including one would make it either too slow for the existing classes, or only able to race against itself, so I can see why they're perhaps hesitant to include older cars.

What's wrong with the Corvette?

It's the least interesting of the pack by far and I dislike the car regardless. Ever since it launched it's been the automotive equivalent of a game being overhyped as fuck.

It's also the automotive equivalent of the Dark Souls 2 visual downgrade

Yea this. Pretty disgusting they think it's appropriate to release additional content when PS+ subscribers who were lied to still have nothing.

Why do some people think it's appropriate that those of us who bought the game for full price along with the season pass should have to wait for people who didn't to get their PS+ version? If the cars and tracks are done then release them. What does holding them back accomplish, exactly?

Wat... The Corvette is an excellent sports car. There are also NO American cars in the game other than the Venom, but that's just an elongated Lotus. So it's nice that there's finally an American car that should have been in the game in the first place. The Viper still missing is annoying though.

I'm embarrassed for them that they think it is acceptable to release content when there are pending issues. Sony should really be barring them from releasing anything further until the fulfill the commitment they made to PS+ subs. This entire situation has been handled poorly, which is unfortunate because the game looks pretty good.

So you think rather than simply disappointing people waiting for the PS+ edition, they should ALSO disappoint people who bought the game and season pass by making them wait months and months for previously promised content? Please clarify because that makes absolutely zero sense.

The people working on DLC content are different from the network coders trying to stabilize the online for ps+. Postponing DLC content, including the latest photomode and weather update, would be stupid and a disservice those who supported the game from day 1.

You want artists and programmers to stop doing their job until network engineers are done with theirs?

You'd have a point if this content would put even more stress on the breaking points, but it shouldn't.

So punish the people that actually supported you so that the people who just want free stuff don't get upset? makes sense..

No, first and foremost you reward the people who bought the full game, regardless of what was promised.

A PS+ version will come sooner rather than later anyway, but there is still a bunch of whiney tarts going on about it like it will never happen when that is not the case.

Yes, but it just sends the wrong message, it's all about PR.

Interesting... ;)

Damn you viveks, don't do this to me!

No it does not.

absolutely does.

I should've had my PS+ edition a month ago but it got delayed, i'm still waiting to try it out before actually purchasing the full game. I'm not that pleased to learn that they're working on a DLC for the full game while my PS+ edition is still somewhere in the bermuda triangle

I take it as somewhat of a "screw the PS+ edition just buy the game mate"

Yea, i don't even get the logic here. Also take into account the people that bought the DLC season pass. Is evo just supposed to screw them over because the ps+ version isnt complete. Now that would be terrible PR, intentionally not delivering on a service people paid for.

DLC that was likely already complete shortly before release after the game went gold, DLC that impacts servers nowhere near as much as thousands of new players trying out a free game.

ITT: A group of people at a table in a restaurant.

Waiter: Hi, can I take your order?

Person A: Oh yes, I saw your ad about offering special free appetizers. I don't want to order a meal, I'll just have one a complimentary french onion soup please
Person B: Sirloin for myself, medium rare
Person C: Pasta primavera, please

*5 mins later*

Waiter (to Person A): I'm sorry sir, we ran out of soup and it will take a while to make some more. Oh, and for the rest of you, here's your steak and pasta.

Person A: It's disgusting that you would bring them their food before mine is ready!! Outrage!!! Your restaurant deserves to go under, I hope you all rot in hell.

I paid and got absolutely nothing but poor excuses. PS+ isn't free. They should not be generating further revenue and using resources for further revenue generating activities when they have not met other obligations. Season pass holders should be offered a refund. This practice of not following through is unacceptable and I am getting tired of paying from broken/unavailable games. The release was clearly ambitious but I feel they went forward with it hoping to milk more money from PS+ subs in the form of DLC. Again, I think this whole thing sucks because the game looks great and I'd actually like to play it at some point.

Again, the car and track modellers don't know anything about networking, the network engineers do. DLC being released doesn't mean PS+ isn't being worked on.

The PS+ edition is done and ready to go, they can't release it until the network side gets fixed.

The people working on the network issues are NOT the same people working on the DLC.

So according to you they should sit on their ass and do absolutely nothing for months on end.

Jesus fucking christ man, these threads -_-

Hey guys, lets just ignore this season pass people have already payed for because our servers aren't stable enough yet for the PS+ version of the game.

Great PR and customer service right here

PS+ isn't free.

I feel like they need a lot more than 5 cars, 2 of which are just upgraded versions of current cars, and only 1 of which isn't European, to get me anything close to interested in this game.

Is the restaurant trying to get me to pay for a full price meal because I'm tired of waiting for the appetizer? Because I am certain this is the case.

You bought ps+ just to play a free version of DC though? Because if you're going to spend $50 on ps+ just for that then you might as well just buy the full game.

OKAY THEN. Let's say the person paid for their soup.

Should the restaurant still hold back the other people's orders?

The analogy is stupid, but actually yes a restaurant usually makes it a point to serve all guests at the same time, because it's rude to start eating when someone at your table hasn't been served yet.

PS+ isn't giving money directly to Evo. You haven't given money towards the direct maintenance and support of a game, you've given money to Sony whose services are very barely related, why should Evo prioritise people who aren't funding them?

They made that agreement with Sony, not me. Let's be clear, I don't think Sony handled this well either. Sony used this to sell PS+ subs prior to launch of the game.

Maybe restaurant was a bad choice then.

I'm sure there's another more appropriate analogy that illustrates my point.
