DRIVECLUB up for preorder with PS plus discount

That was the plan until Sony wanted more money. Now PS Plus people get some free bullshit instead of the full game. And be careful...the Sony Defense Force will CUT you for having a problem with it.

Wasn't it always announced as the PS+ Edition and never the full game?

Yes. So the people that keep asking that question or don't realise it is the PS+ Edition either didn't watch the E3 conference or have dumb friends who don't listen to what people say and pass them on shitty info

So the 'discounted' price for PS+ users is a whole £2 less than the 'full price' forza horizon 2 on Xbox one?

Oh really? So despite revealing from the right get go at E3 2013 that everyone was getting the PS+ version, their plan suddenly changed. Ok sure.

It's $50 up in Canada Land, too, and I have $25 in credit. I really want to save it for No Man's Sky, though... and I'll get the PS+ Edition anyways... and GTA V is only a month after that... hmm...

I haven't played a racing game besides Little Big Planet Karting since the PS2 era.

Last Gen I wasn't too big on Sony first party stuff, this Gen however I've been finding myself planning to get every Sony First/Second or Third Party exclusive that isn't a First Person game.

I'm going to jump on this.

or option 3... they are intentionally trying to shit up the thread with garbage.

Amazing.... SDF, FUD and flatout wrong in one post. Well this has to be a first.

That Target sale is coming in handy.

The Season Pass is the same price as the US as well. With the discount for the full game, I decided to go all in.

Umm, that was never the case, maybe an assumption by some, but they never announced the entire game as free.... revisionist history at best.

EDIT:
And we're done here..

Somewhere along the way the content breakdown of Driveclub got muddled beyond belief. Hopefully Sony gets some PR lessons from this because we can't be doing this ever again.

PS+ Driveclub is the game with all modes and features but 1/5th of the content. PS+ members get a $10 discount on the game either from pre-ordering or from upgrading from the PS+ version of the game. That is basically it.

Did the Season Pass price go up? I thought it was $20. I'm probably mistaken though. Interesting move that pre-ordering is PS+ exclusive. Maybe they're trying to drive home that $50 without showing people the $60 one?
i heard its getting delayed?
Are you talking about the October 2013 Delay or the Spring 2014 "Delay"?

was from someone who works at Evolution Studios, it was likely supposed to be a much fuller offering when people were sort of pissed about having to pay for multiplayer.

Weird ass linking but:

The PS+ Edition of DRIVECLUB will be available well into the new year, so no need to worry.

There will be a discount to upgrade to the full digital edtion from the PS+ edition, but prices won't be announced for a few more weeks yet.

- When you upgrade from the PS+ Edition you get the full digital edition content.
- You can earn the platinum trophy in the PS+ Edition, remember its the full game minus a few cars/tracks.
- Rear-view mirrors as you've seen in the latest direct feed footage just show the environment - you'd be surprised how limited the visibility in the mirrors are for a lot of these cars and for gameplay purposes we want to give the best visibility.
- We are working on a photo mode, but that's all I can say about it right now.
- You guys wanted uncompressed footage and obviously the PS4 capture utilises some form of video compression to ensure the videos aren't ridiculously large (the raw direct feed videos we captured are 6GB for 2 minutes of footage).
- We're working on alternative solutions for trying to get the highest quality vids up online quickly by ourselves.

No Split-Screen I'm afraid.

The US get a similar deal: http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/08/20/driveclub-pre-order-bonuses-revealed/ "Purchase Driveclub at retail or digitally via PlayStation Store, and you’ll get a free 3-Month PlayStation Plus Trial"

Everything is going to be just fine.

The bold part is what got people upset I assume.

Hope it is available soon in Europe. With the PS+ discount, and a 50€ PSN Card only costing 43€. It is the first time I am going to preorder a retail game from the German store.

The one from last week when they had PSN and Eshop credit for 25% off. A $20 card was only $15. A $50 card was only $37.50.

It was a Canadian only deal.

$50 PS + cards for $37, not sure if its still valid, I picked up 1 card but starting to regret not picking up more, heard stories of people buying up to $2000 in cards. I guess they are set for the rest of the generation.

Looks like I missed it.

No, the season pass was announced as $24.99 and value of ~$76.

oh shit, no wonder there is this chinese guy selling them codes for 48 bucks. bought two and gonna buy more because im tired of paying 58 for them

Thanks for the info, OP. I was going to try the PS+ edition first, but am now tempted to take advantage of the $49.99 CAD just in case it goes up once the game is out.

This is the first time I've ever ordered a season pass. Ugh, I've become part of the problem, but it's too good to pass up.

Please. Tell me more!

Your side on this really comes down to the clarification of "few".

Some (like me) thought "The full game minus a few cars and tracks" meant that it would have more than it would be missing.

Either way, glad PS+ users will be getting something. Oddly enough the 1 year I bought PS+ for (for this game back when I thought it would be more than just a demo without wheel support) might be up really close to the time this launches.
