About a week ago I heard you can download game demos onto the Nintendo DS in Japanese game stores. Not too long after that, I heard a rumor that they were going to roll out the downloadable demos in the U.S. I asked some employees at the Nintendo World store at Rockefeller Center in New York City, and they said it would happen next month, so I was surprised to see one of their LCD screens advertising them in the store today. There were six game demos to choose from, so of course, I chose Brain Age, the weirdest sounding game.
Basically, you turn on the DS, and choose download play, much like you would if your friend had a DS and you want to play together but with only one cartridge. The download I chose showed up on the screen as "Vol. 1", so I suppose that means there will be more demos in the future. Yay!
BTW, the other demos in Vol. 1 were Tetris, Tetris Push, Super Mario Kart, some movie promo for a game, and another one I can't remember (it's 2:30 am, sheesh).

I know I asked this here before, but how do you get to the Nintendo World Store by train?

It's at the Rockefeller Center but outside, across from Dean and Deluca's.
So take the B/D/F/V subway lines and get off at 47-50 St/Rockefeller Center.

How do you get to the Rockefeller Center? :P

Edit: Thanks. I'll take the F train there on my way home from school.

i saw something getting installed int my local Chips store.

Didnt think they would be pushing this out across the uk so quickly.

I'm playing Tetris DS Push as we speak. Went after work, picked up Super Princess Peach (which actually came out yesterday), downloaded Tetris DS Push Mode, snapped my DS into sleep mode, and left it that way during my commute back to my Brooklyn apt.

Now I've got my DS plugged in, and the CPU is pwning me in Push Mode.

Also available are:
Metroid Prime Hunters exclusive trailer
Mario Kart DS playable demo
Pokemon Trozei playable demo (I think)
Brain Age playable demo (gonna grab this tomorrow, I think)
Tetris DS Standard playable demo
+1 or 2 more I may be forgetting?

The DS can only hold one download at a time, and of course it wipes when you power down.

nice! how is tetris? impressions please! you say you stoped at the nintendo world store?

I work 5 minutes from the Nintendo World Store, and typically stop by either during my lunch hour or after work, 1-3x a week, depending on release schedules.

Tetris Push was fun. Like competitive Puyo Puyo, only the screens are top-down instead of left-right.

Computer kicked my ass. :/

Edit - To clarify, Push mode works thus: You and the CPU (or, presumably, another player in the full game) compete at Tetris. As you clear blocks, they get turned into garbage blocks that fill up the opposing board. You lose when your board fills up and tops out. You win if you can make the other player's board top out.
