Nintendo sold only 119,300 units last month, in comparison to 730,000 in January. For the first time since March 2005, Sony's PSP outsold DS, albeit by only 300 units.
The change-over affected hardware sales overall for the month, with a year-on-year fall of 35.44%, or $57mln. In February PS2 sold 96,500 units followed by GBASP with 24,900 units.
Software sales also fell 3% (around 23.1 billions yens) compared to February of the previous year. Monster Hunter 2 (Capcom) comes in first place of sales with 460,000 copies, followed by Sengokumuso 2 (Koei) with 300,000 copies and Motto Otona no DS Training (Nintendo) with 250,000 copies.
