DS Lite Game Recommendations

So Ouendan is never getting localized, right?

It is coming to America under the name "Elite Beat Agents", but it's different from the Japanese game. If you like the American version might as well buy the Japanese version.

I did not want to start a new thread to ask this. I am getting the Lite tomorrow, what accessorys do I need to get to get the full experience? For instance, what do I need to get online? If I have a wireless connection at home, is that enough? I need a good carrying case also. Basically I am just looking for a DS for dummies guide to ge tthe most out of the system.

wireless: http://www.nintendowifi.com

look up your model/make and read the instructions

carrying case: use your pocket

games: go to the store.

yep, that should about cover it

I tried that with the PSP, and my pocket is twice as long as my shorts now. I guess I can just wear the same pair of pants. I'm kidding myself. Why bother with it when I know that it will end up in that same dark corner of my closet with all my other portable gaming devices withen 6 months.

I tried to use the gift card then, they refused to let me!

I'll probably get back into AWDS, likely.
Then you tell them you'll pick up a second copy (and get a second giftcard) and buy it using the first giftcard and then return the first copy with the first receipt and the second giftcard. You tell them that and they'll let you use the first giftcard on the first copy so they don't have to go through all the bullshit. :)

Meh, it's still $10 either way, and I know I'll end up buying something else anyways. I wasn't exactly in a position to finagle it too outrageously. Le sigh.

I know, but I never let shit like that fly because I'd rather have those $10 in my pocket than theirs. I also hate having giftcards because it forces me to go back and it's possible (although not likely) that I would never go back there again.

I've actually refused giftcards from my parents and brothers and told them to give me cash instead so that I'm not forced to go to a certain store. I asked them why they waste time going to the store if they're just going to give me a giftcard. If they're not going to buy me a gift then cash is the perfect gift.

As you can see, I have a thing against giftcards. :)

i have no idea what my nickname has to do with advance wars or age of empires, but oookkkk....i enjoyed aoe on the pc and the reviews indicated it was a faithful port, so it seemed like a tough choice.

any good rpg's yet?

Tell me about Super Princess Peach and Age of Empires DS.

I've only owned Age of Empires since yesterday, and only played it today, but I can give you some quick impressions on the SP:

1. The interface is a bit smaller than I think it should be. Sometimes you'll click things you don't mean to click. You always have the option to change your selection, but it is a bit annoying.

2. The storyline is pretty cool so far. Nice mission structure, seems like it has a lot of depth.

3. The graphics are okay, but when there's a lot of units onscreen at once things get jumbled and blurry, and it's hard to pick a unit with the stylus when others are surrounding them.

4. I wish they'd had a Wi-Fi option for multiplayer.

It's a pretty decent game, but buy it used. I chose this over Advance Wars just because I like the historical settings, but if I could go back and choose over I'd probably get Advance Wars instead. Maybe the multiplayer will be good enough to raise my opinion.

Harmony of Dissonance AND Aria of Sorrow. for 30 bucks, 15 dollars per game

Is Trauma Center worth it? I need an answer quick. I hear it's pretty challenging; is that "fu*k this game" challenging or "oh just one more go" challenging?

Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow is the best currently on the system; it's out and out excellent. Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time is a notch below excellent. It's still very good. Lost in Blue is good, but only if you like sim game elements. Lost Magic is pretty good as a strategy RPG, but the balance is really out of whack in parts (story is lame, battle system's excellent).

the first one

quick question: before I drop $50 on ebay on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, how the hell exactly does it play? It looks more like a graphic novel than a game.

Its pretty much a detective game. You interview people, collect & examine evidence, etc to gather clues. Then you go to trial. At the trial you listen to the witness' testimony and look for evidence that contradicts their statements. When you find it, you raise an objection and present the evidence. Pretty soon their testimony starts to unravel and your client gets of the hook. The trials vary in length. They start off short but get longer and longer as the game progresses. It also becomes harder to find some of the contradictions.

I highly recommend it. Its really different from anything else that I have played before. The dialog is funny and searching/finding the contradictions is fun as is battling the prosecuting attourneys.

picked up Mario Kart, Metriod Prime Hunters, and Castlevania DOS now. Wanted to find Trauma Center, but didn't see a copy. I'll find one in the next few weeks, think I might have enough now.
