[A Link to the Past]

Recently, my DS Lite has been not responding to my two most frequented wireless hotspots - my house and the laundromat. I was thinking that there was something wrong with the wireless in general, but my mom's DS Lite works fine - at the laundromat, however. Both DS Lites do not work on my wireless router, but they DO detect them. Anyone have problems like this before, and know how to fix it?

Is your router set for 64bit WEP? Because thats all the DS supports.

I used to have problems with DS wifi all the time, but the problems were always from my router.

DS is very picky about communicating with routers. I could never get it to talk properly with my Linksys. I'm using D-Link now but I haven't even tried the DS with it... not willing to downgrade my security settings.

If another DS works fine in the same hotspot I can only think it's the DS. But the only thing I can suggest there is that you clear your WiFi settings and re-connect starting with fresh settings.

Well...

1. I don't know if it's set to 64bit WEP, as I didn't set it. However, it worked fine before, and I never did anything to it.

2. Do I have to set a WEP key to have it be set to 64bit WEP? I've never had to before.

3. I've cleared my WiFi settings and added it back. It detects and sets up my connection to the router just fine, but the Test Connection always fails.

Maybe I'll go to McDonalds today to test it out.

Try to pictochat with someone that will tell whether your wireless is broken or not. (That's what nintendo tells you at least when you call about connection problems). If it can pictochat then it probably is the router. Sorry I can't be of more help mine still has connection problems since I got my old one replaced.

Forgot to mention that yeah, I did do PictoChat, and it worked.

Weird... I had a Netgear that was ridiculously difficult to get my DS working with. I still hadn't quite gotten it working when I gave up. Oddly, I had no problems getting it working with the Linksys I replaced the Netgear with.
