Duke Nukem Forever (PC/PS3/360, 2011) announced by Gearbox/T2, playable at PAX

I have zero interest in this game, and I love Duke Nukem, maybe because I've already seen most of the game from the leaks ages ago or maybe it just took so long I stopped caring /shrug

Yeah, they're not bad at all. The second one especially. I'd still only really recommend 3D if what the person wants is context for why GAF cares.

Oh, for sure. I think the old Duke Nukem games have a considerably different tone, but they're fun to play once you've gone through Duke 3D.
 
Kinda shocked at everyone shitting on gearbox here. Yes the last BIA was bad, but the 2 good BIA and Borderlands let me know DNF is in good hands that will actually ship this game

Oh God, Plug N' Pray. I remember it being ridiculously hard, but in the end I eventually managed to complete it. Without any cheats, as AFAIK there were no cheats for the PS1 version of Duke 3D :lol The PS1 version had awesome music too.

I was playing it this morning on PSP, still a lot of fun.
 
I'm just going to add that, along with the Duke 3D forums, the Max Payne and Prey forums are also closed on 3DR's web site.

I guess that means Gearbox now owns those 3 IPs.

As I said in the other thread, it seems like, according to the Game Informer link another member posted, the 3D Realms staff went on to Gearbox, more or less making them the new 3D Realms, I hope.

Zenimax Media owns Prey, and Max Payne is owned by Rockstar, I think?

EDIT: Ummm, it says Stuburns, that's not my username, hasn't been for a while, maybe it was last June. In that case I didn't know Gearbox were working on it at the time, even more reason to doubt it.

My username was stuburns, now it's StuBurns. I thought that post was from this last June, in which case I knew Gearbox was making it, but then I realized it was my old name, so it was the June before, so I didn't know.

I don't think gearbox has ever wowed me with any of their games but I hope the Duke will bring it. I'll get this game even if it turns out to be mediocre though.

Killing dudes grants EGO which fills up health. I dont know how the pumping iron works. I figure you find weights, you pump them, and continue killing shit.

Yeah, my confusion, I apologize.

I don't doubt I have posted things about DN3D and DNF that I regret, probably out of frustration or whatever, but I think that post is fine. I guess till now I've been kind of in that mindset of "It can't be worth the wait", and of course, it won't be, nothing could justify these delays, but now it's happening, I really don't care about the time it took, what matters if it's going to be good or not, if it is, awesome.

EDIT: I don't like that 'Consoles and PC' means PS360 and PC, I don't care about the Wii but it's not really accurate.
 
I feel like maybe this game is about to become revelant again since Hollywood has been slowly bringing back the giant-muscled, testosterone-fueled summer-action-movie genre lately. A little.
