DUNGEON SIEGE® III
360 Demo available 5/31/11!

Be sure to download the Dungeon Siege III demo on the Xbox 360 on May 31st, 2011. The demo will be available on June 7th for the PS3 and PC via Steam. And don't forget to visit the Dungeon Siege III website to download the latest wallpaper showcasing all four heroes!

Oh ffs, just make the demo available on all platforms at the same time. It´s not like I´m gonna sign up for XBOX Live Gold to play a couple of demo version one week before the other platforms get it.

Timed demo releases?

We need timed screenshot releases.

360 Screenshots May 31st, PS3/PC June 7th!

I was actually really looking forward to this game, but the recent Obsidian troubles make me wary. Don't want to invest unless they're going to be around to support it. Assuming it's good anyway!

Good. I was really interested in this, but was real squishy on whether to throw down a pre-order. A demo will really help sell me.

I've only played the original DS on the PC but I must admit from what I've seen this is a growing itch that I can't wait to scratch :-)

I can't get my PC demo until a week later? Arrrgh. I guess I'll download the 360 demo and then the PC demo later.

I imagine the PS3 demo is pushed back due to the fact Sony have a lot of content to release in order to catch up on the last few weeks.

Was really hyped about this game until I heard the co-op is similar to Fable 2 (so basically worthless). But I'm glad they are releasing a demo, might still buy if the demo kicks ass.

How do you mean?

What?!!?

I hate being that guy, but that's a deal breaker.

One thing that's going to STOP me from buying this game is when you loot something, it doesn't say shit about it's stats/rarity without having to go into your inventory every damn time.

That is the WORST.

You're telling me that it isn't color coded? REALLY?

Items should be color coded.

If you mean whether or not it is color coded in the "You picked up Pants" text, not sure.

Edit: Looked again. It looks like the notification for the item is color coded. Here's a capture when one of the players opened a treasure chest.

I'll look again for whether or not it's the same when it comes to monster drops.

Edit2: It's the same.

Is the word still that co-op has your friends fighting as 'mercenaries' rather than using their own characters? Terribly bone headed decision, if so.

The quicklook on Giantbomb I saw a few weeks ago showed it as jump-in/jump-out, with the ability to choose from one of the four characters. And your friends get leveled to the same level as the host.

IIRC basically you have two types of characters, ones for SP and ones for MP and no overlap between the two. So you can't take your SP character into a co-op game or vice versa.

That doesn't sound good.
No idea why it has to be made so complicated.
You get a loot game, you team up with a friend(or better yet...friends), and then you levelup and upgrade your shiz.

Seems like we're regressing.

Demo isn't too bad by the by.

That would be fine, but then:

That's just awful.

It completely nullifies the loot and character building aspects of the game.

I honestly just think they wanted to try to make something more arcadey and easy to jump into instead of another Diablo-clone. Not saying it's a good or bad thing but it's just what I guess they were trying to do.

It still amazes me that not a single game has come out to replicate the persistent Diablo 2 experience.

Wow, yeah please report on the MP stuff soon. That would definitely kill my interest in this game 100%.

Yeah my interest in the game is null and void at this point. That kills everything.

Definitely want to give this a go. I've been dying for a hands-on after seeing some of the videos.

Also, PSN up by June 7 confirmed?

downloading demo now.. but damn I wish I could take my character into my friends game, why can't it be like borderlands??? GAH

anyways hope the demo is good.
