E-mails going out regarding the settlement involving the Vita?

You know, including a 1-year PS+ subscription would have been a good choice as well. Wouldn't have cost them anything. Or maybe they felt the people who would've chosen that would've bought the subscription anyways.

No email, bought one at launch, sold it. Bought another one last year to try remote play and sold it again. Should I try putting in my info?

Has anybody received a reply from the form yet?

If so how long did it take?

I just requested the PSN cash about 20 minutes ago.

Nothing yet, but it says the claims (at least the check/credit) won't be issued until after June 30th, when they close redemption. I assume it's the same for games too.

Got the email myself.

Email address seems shady.
Website also looks shady.

Pretty sure I bought my Vita not from US, however I do registered my Vita with US account, for PS+. Not going to bite this one.

I don't think you guys should be worried. I'm almost positive it's legit. Pretty much every website I've ever seen that is meant to manage one of these legal case resolutions looks sketchy as fuck. The free games a few months back from the PSN outage in 2011 was the exact same way.

Got a Vita during launch period, but didn't get an email.

I guess they knew I bought it open box from Amazon :)

I bought mine the day it launched in the US, and still no email for me. Even checked my spam folder. I wonder if switching between my US and JP accounts on my Vita a couple of times in the past affected my eligibility in some way.

I didn't switch my account or anything and I didn't get an email either. And my serial number is worn off if my Vita, so I can't really send a form in either. Kind of stupid.

This should make you all feel better...

This is the website that was used to offer the games in the PSN outage settlement....

https://psnsoesettlement.com/english/

Notice the web address? Notice the style of the site? It's the exact same... This was the web address that was sent to us after that settlement was reached.. It's the same company that is handling the Vita settlement as well.

PS, you can still file your PSN outage settlement claim as well...

While everyone is here, I need a vita memory card lol. Can we sue Sony for not adequately providing alternatives to their overpriced proprietary cards?

Haven't received an e-mail yet either. I'm wondering if it's due to the fact that I've logged in under multiple PSN accounts during my time with the system. I still have it, so I may just go ahead and try my luck filling out the form if I don't see anything over the next couple of days.

Bought the pre-launch bundle with Little Deviants, haven't received an email yet. Will snap up the code in a heartbeat so I hope I get it.

Wait so is this real or not? I got an email from vitalegaloffer. Is this official or a scam?

I don't think there has been any official confirmation yet. Some game news sites have reported on it, but from what I have seen, none of them actually did any work to contact Sony or the legal firm about it; they just posted what was in the e-mail.

I guess if it's fake we will hear something within a week or so. The deadline is not until June, so I see no reason not to wait it out a few days just in case it does turn out to be a scam.

Too true. Thanks, man.

I've been part of all sorts of these class action things and the websites are always very similarly built with super generic-to-the-point URLs. No way this is fake.

Is what real? The settlement? Yes.

If you have concerns that a particular email your received is a phishing attempt, you can bypass it by going to vitaclaims.com and submitting a hard copy form.

And the link to the PSN forums you can ignore. They talked to a Sony customer service rep who denied sending the email. That's because a third party claims administrator usually sends these emails, not the settling party itself. There are multiple well-respected businesses who exist solely to facilitate class action settlements like this.

I got the email as well. Such a ridiculous lawsuit. The email arrived in my spam folder, and I almost didn't check it, but since yahoo has a habit of sending legit emails to my spam folder, I tend to check it every once in a while to make sure nothing important has found its way there again.

I haven't filled out the form, although I do think it's legit. Out of all of the things to sue Sony for, I find this one the most silly. I've owned my Vita since launch, and it's still the best handheld I've ever owned. Such a shame it gets next to no love from people. I haven't decided if I should participate in this or not, however. I do think the lawsuit is dumb, but a $25 credit isn't too bad.

I find this hilarious. I am glad you think the federal government's lawsuit and settlement with Sony -- hashed out by some of the best legal minds money could afford or the federal government could hire-- is "legit."

As for "dumb" -- turns out you shouldn't use false adds to sell a handheld, no matter how good it is. There is nothing wrong with opting into this class.

Note -- because this was brought by a federal agency, not private plaintiffs, there is no concern here about lawyers fees, etc. that anti-litigation-folks commonly bring up.

So I didn't get an email and the claim form on the Vita site says that you have to have either your receipt, the label from the box or some other type of verification.

I don't have the label or the box anymore, what do you guys think they would accept for "Other verification"? I could show them my trophy list on PSN, because it definitely shows that I was playing games on my Vita before the date. But I don't know if that's good enough.

Call the claims administrator and ask -- 1-800-410-5484. Their job is to facilitate the settlement and answer questions like this.

If they don't like the trophy list -- Did you pay with a check, debit, or credit card? If so, can you get the canceled check or card statement?
