Woot!

Titled Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney- Justice For All, the game will feature four new cases to solve, complete with the ability to object and use various tools on demand to get the job done. The game will also boast a new health meter system, which can affect the strength of your case if you provide wrong evidence or have misguided attempts on hand. This should bump up the challenge significantly.

There's also a new Psyche-Lock, where you can launch a probe of questions at witnesses to try and weed them out in their time of truthiness...or lying. It's an interesting twist on the gameplay that should be rather fresh.

I'm 99% sure of this, but let's just be absolutely sure. Can someone at e3 go to Capcom's booth and ask if this is GS2 or GS4?

In the other thread with the PR we confirmed that this is GS2.

Is GS4 in development at all then?

The additions to the gameplay sound intriguing. I found the original Phoenix Wright to be a fairly average graphic adventure game, but I do enjoy the premise.

Oh man, this was already a good day since I turned my music history paper in but it just got 500x better. This is the best possible news I could have gotten from E3 (well, maybe Panzer Dragoon Saga DS would top it, but not by much).

so were the health bar and the psyche lock in the original GBA version?? I don't want anything gimping up the game play :(

They are there in GS2 & GS3.

Psyche lock add more depth to the investigation part of the game. In that phase, people could also lie to you. you have to unlock them all for that person so she tell you the truth.

I'm 99% sure the game isn't actually on the show floor... just in their media kit. I looked all around Capcom's booth and couldn't find it :(

Could be wrong, though.

Hey Justin, remember when you told me I was wrong about the localization of 2 and 3? That, you know, I reported on months ago?

Yeah.

?? If I remember right weren't we talking about the cellphone version?

If I'm wrong and you were right, then congrats, I guess ;)

Psyche Lock is an excellent feature (I've played GS2 and GS3). It adds so much more to the game.

The health meter system is good too, so you won't always get 5 chances in court.

The 4 cases are new cases, but I am sure they are just the same cases as the Japanese version.

Nonetheless, I've played all 3 GS, and I definitely think GS2 is the best of them all. So look forward to it!

most probably for PW 4 unless they include it for a fith bonus case :D

More PW love :) :)
Perhaps a introduction to the lawyer that will be in GS4 during a 5th case? *hopes*

Well they likely mean that they are bringing GS4 here as a different Ace Attorney game, but I can still hope. :P

PW4 wouldnt be PW since it wouldnt star him. Right?
Obviosuly he meant GS4. :P

I was right before when I said they will just release it here as a new Ace Attorney series. :D

I wish there were more ways to solve a case. So if you build a super case you get more credit than if you squeak by with the bare minimum.

Also, you should be able to murder witnesses that could hurt your case.

Man, I had no idea this was even coming out until I saw it on the monitors at E3. I was like

omg *squeak*

hopefully it has 4 NEW cases on top of the originals....otherwise 4 is too low!!!
Unlikely.

But 4 cases is better than no cases. And the most important thing is that you're getting a good story, I'd be happy with just one case if the story was great and had a few hours of gameplay.

So it's official, we'll get both Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 2 and New Ace Attorney sometime soon. :D

That leaves a gap where Gyakuten Saiban 3 is.. I hope they release that first.

Wait, what?

I think you just answered my question, but is this new Phoenix Wright really GS2?

There is no gap since GS4 is unrelated, that's why they are able to released both here within a short amount of time without screwing up the series. I'm sure they'll release GS3 after they finish with GS2.

Yes it is the four cases from GS2.

Was the health meter and the "Psyche look" stuff in the original Gyakuten Saiban 2, or was it done specifically for the DS? And is there a Japanese release date for this? Hopefully it will be in english as well with the fancy package like the last one :D

So if I still haven't found the first PW, should I wait for this new one or is it a completly new sequel? I'm confused

In Japan this franchise is known as Gyakuten Saiban, and was a three game GBA Japan only franchise. The first DS game (known as Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney) is a remake of the first GBA game with an extra case made for the DS. The one we are discussing in this thread is the 2nd GBA game remade for the DS called Phoenix Wright: Justice for All. In Japan there is also a fourth in the series coming out next year named Gyakuten Saiban 4 and that's a brand new game for the DS and the storyline.

In short, buy the first one (Ace Attorney) when you can find it. This one (Justice for All) is the direct sequel storywise, so it might not make as much sense if you get this first.

This concludes today's lesson on Phoenix Wright.

Thanks for clearing that up. I will definately try this series as soon as I can find the damn game since it is nowhere to be found. Thanks again.

The re-re-print is still scheduled for end of May . see http://www.ncsxshop.com/cgi-bin/shop/NTR-P-AGYE.html

Or wait for the Japanese budget price release in mid-June. It contains Japanese and English (same translation).
