First people assume it's Natal and Wii, he don't mention them in that one video. Second of all the videos he's in the majority of them are about sony games. The jokes are usually about things not related to games like taking a dude's family, wondering what's wrong with a dude that's complaining about his hott gf spending time with him, pretending to pay attention to a needy girl who is being ignored by her boyfriend. The situational comedy is just entertaining to some, it's quality laughs.

I'm sure you knew all of this but are really upset about that one Move video.

Um. You seem like the one whos upset. HE DOESN'T MENTION THEM BY NAME!!! YOUR HONOR I OBJECT!!!

Um, how come he has two moves in the ad? Are alot of games gonna use that? Isn't that gonna get expensive?

Imagine a world without Kevin Butler.

lmao, if Kevin Butler host the conference Sony wins automatically for me at least <3

Sony should be careful using Butler. As much as we like him in the commercials, he's just an actor and he may have no real gaming knowledge or stage presence. Plus he needs to come off as funny as in the commercials, you don't want to make him into a dud and undermine a successful marketing campaign. If it were me I'd use a video of him addressing E3, but not have him live

He's a game developer....though he hasn't worked in that many..he has produced and directed most..
  • Def Jam: Icon
  • Fight Night Round 3
  • Battlestations
  • Army Men: Air Attack 2
  • Army Men: Air Attack
This is probably a dumb question but why does he have a Japanese sounding name but looks Caucasian?

Wow, those Epic Mickey banners are awesome...

Seeing all the colors up close, and picking out all the rides has actually gotten me hyped for this game (it interested me before, but now I so want to explore it). Teacups, Tiki Room, Tree House....

In the orange one, you see the Walt&Mickey statue at the end of mainstreet....only with Oswalt replacing Mickey....fucking awesome.

I really hope it isn't terrible to link them here...if so, just say and I'll pull them:

If the same person who maintains Kevin Butler's twitter writes his E3 script, I'm pretty sure he will be hilarious at the conference.

:lol I can't believe that KB poster is real. If he hosts the Sony conference it's gonna be the best ever...

Those Epic Mickey posters would look so damn good on my wall right now! :D

And jett, you are right. But you really need your old avatar back!

I agree. I say preserve the produced video aspect of his character. Either have a pre-recorded video during the event, or if they really want a "live" cameo, have a well scripted/rehearsed segment where he "hacks" into their feed to say a few words. Just keep it short.

Some old ass interview talked about he been mixed...his glasses are also related to a medical condition in his eyes. Can't find the links to those interviews anyway...

Kevin Butler! OMG YES!! :D :D :D

But unfortunately he's going to host the Move conference, at least that's what it looks like. Well maybe it becomes a little more interesting?

Edit: this changes NOTHING :lol

I don't think he'll host the entire conference, but I'm sure he'll start it. It would nice, if he'd introduce himself as the new CEO of SCE and talk about how he'll change everything (the move slogan) etc, 'till Tretton comes on stage and starts the real conference.

Unfortunately? From the way this thread is going, if he DOESN'T host the Move at the conference, everyone is going to be severely disappointed -- except for you.

I'm with both JesseZao and Yoboman. Sony should use KB sparingly. They don't want to burn him out too soon. A short vid at E3 would be perfect.

Still, good to see him on that poster.

They definitely shouldn't have Butler live on stage.
Too great a risk.
He definitely needs to be present in video form though.

That said, it's amazing to see that big ass Butler poster. :lol

Can those be made into nice looking avatars perhaps? :)

Edit: Kevin Butler is an actor for Christ's sakes! The stage show is scripted to hell and back! What could he possibly screw up?!

Not so much for fear of burning him out as fear of something going wrong in a live context and 'spoiling' things a little.

Kevin Butler is a character played by an actor, in scripted scenarios...I don't know how much of a off-the-cuff comedian his actor is. They need to be careful he's used in appropriate contexts.

Anyway, I still thing Howard Stringer and Tom Hanks would do the best Sony e3 conference if given half the chance ;)

Agreed. If they misjudge how he does in front of huge audiences, there could be disastrous results if he corpses. I'd love to see Tom Hanks make a guest appearance! :D

He would share the stage with Tretton and instead of funny it would just end up awkward.

people are making fun of translator guy

but i thought he was actually quite good

he had almost no accent and he did translate simulataneously (which takes a lot of concentration trust me) without f ing up once in front of a huge audience.

Tom Hanks at CES last year with Stringer was just...awesome :D

I wonder if Stringer would be a good choice to do a presenting segment at E3...he would bring a touch of class :P
