E3 2017: Yakuza 6 Trailer

Cannot wait. Seeing all these characters after years of development including the one we virtually raised as Kiryu as a major plot mover in what may be the end of an era is amazing.

Bring it on.

Having completed the Japanese version last year - I can say while it isn't my favorite - it's still good. I found it was very heavy on cutscenes and lacked the wackiness of previous titles, but it was still an enjoyable ride that I can't wait to revisit when it comes out next year. I'm predicting January 24th.

Finished it as well and it was my favorite mainline Yakuza game since 2 or 3.

I liked how focused the game was and the story really pulled me in, a worthy conclusion to the story of Kiryu imo.

Storytelling has always been very strong in Yakuza, but the new engine makes a big difference in how well emotions are conveyed during cinematics/conversations. Everything including side-missions is fully voiced, but that also means there's less of them.

There's only one fighting style and one playable character, so people who started with Zero might miss those things about 6. But the fighting itself has never been more polished, you can fight in traffic, stores, etc. and it's a lot of fun.

Badassery overload.

Yakuza 6 is comfortably my second favourite iteration in the series (after Zero), and the new graphics engine is amazing. My only advice to fully enjoy the game: This is Kiryu's story, not Majima/Saejima/Akiyama's. Taper your expectations and you'll love it.

I think the main villain is shit, the final fight is shit, and the ending is shit.

So while I like the game and its story as a whole, it fails miserably as a conclusion to Kiryu's story. I'm definitely looking forward to the next game, now that the engine is good to go they can go back to doing crazy shit, it's just too bad that this game had to be the sacrificial lamb, Kiryu's last game deserved better.

I heard that the conclusion to this story is eh and the final conflict was ass.

Can't be worse than whatever the hell 5 tried to be

Gosh - The Yakuza 6 trailer really got to me.

The whole mystery on who the father is for Haruka's baby... shit, as a father myself, I just know this game will push my buttons emotinally more than the past games, and Yakuza 0 is one of my favourite games ever.

Bring on Kiwami and Yakuza 6!

Any reason they wouldn't bring 2 through 5 to ps4? Loved zero and looking forward to the yakuza 1 remake. But I ain't jumping to 6 from 1 lol

Sure if you're willing to wait 8 years on them... seems like we could get a remake/remaster once every two years. My guess is they'll come to PC eventually which will preserve them a bit better with unlocked resolutions and framerates.
