E3 Game Of The Show - Conference Edition

So you think COD4 is being touted for its revolutionary game play as well? :lol

Killzone 2 is the only game here that is being hated on around here (aside from Wii Fit) because people are picking it or dare I say annoyed by its monstrous hype. It's ok to pick MGS4 and RE5 even though they showed no game play? How is COD4 or Halo 3 a better pick than Killzone 2 if none of them do anything revolutionary with game play either? I personally don't see why people are picking Assassin's Creed after seeing that horrible combat play and game polish issues.

It's impossible to really judge game play on these new games since we haven't played them. We can only judge what we see, and unfortunately the only thing we can see are the graphics. 90% of the games mentioned that aren't on the Wii are touted mostly because of their technical achievement.

Well said. The killzone hype hurts hater's chance to post sony hate.

ive played the halo 3 beta.

Wii Fit and Rock Band look the most interesting to me. I am really looking forward to seeing more games in the future do what Wii Fit and Rock Band are doing, which is bringing people together to play.

Videos games (along with television) have been blamed for the deterioration of social capital in our society. So its good to see that some developers are making games that will reverse this trend.

You're new, aren't you?

So have I... it does nothing revolutionary in terms of game play. Hell I would say that Killzone 2 and even COD4 are both much bigger jumps in their franchises in terms of game play than Halo 3.

Cod4 and Halo3 are better picks than KZ2 cause we have seen plenty of gameplay from both, and we know what to expect pretty much.KZ2 is being hyped even though the first one was average. It's very rare that a game series that starts off average changes into some AAA game in it's sequel.

there's actual gameplay from all those games you mentioned, people are hyping/praising Killzone 2 based on trailers and graphics. admit it, it's silly.

HAHAHA. so your saying the gameplay of a games you clearly have never played is better than that of a game you have played?

he himself has just said he played Halo 3 beta, yet earlier he claimed to have never played any of the games.

Mario Galaxy
.
.
.
Mass Effect.

Many good looking FPS, but after seeing Crysis, almost none of them interest me.

Fixed for me.

Just finished watching the new Trailer for Uncharted. Holy crap. KZ2, CoD4, Uncharted, R&C:F are looking phenomenal. We are truly in next gen now boys.

1 - (tie) Killzone because the crow eating-shutting up fanboys was amazing.
1 - (tie) GT5 prologue. as a gigantic GT fan i'm really happy to see that they haven't lost their touch. its funny that only because its a racing game it doesn't get the credit that it deserves... i mean, which game has better graphics? just because it isen't a shooter doesn't mean its not amazing...
3 - uncharted, looking even cooler than i expected
4 - COD4, finnaly ditched the WWII theme
5 - MGS4, altough that stupid hair on the girl took some of its flair

1) Rock Band---If anyone came out to surprise me the most, it was this. All the DLC support makes it truly the only game i may own this Fall (since it will take all my money anyway)

2) Super Mario Galaxy---Time to actually play a real game for the Wii again

3) Mass Effect---Please BioWare dont mess this up! The 360 needs a game like this

4) Call of Duty 4---Ditching the WW2 theme will do wonders for this series

5) BioShock---Who cares if it wasnt really shown? Its ****ing BioShock! GOTY 2007!

Best Video:
KillZone 2---I dont even have a PS3 and I want to play this
Mario Kart Wii---Mario Kart online. Thats all that needs to be said

You guys are funny. You're all crapping your pants over a really pretty sequel to a game that had arse gameplay and a non-game intended for non-gamers.

Games that actually interested me, in order of potential awesomeness:

Mass Effect
Folklore (this looks awesome)
Infamous (this too, totally reconsidering not ever buying a ps triple now)
Echo Chrome
Lost Odyssey
Mario Galaxy (although I am prepared to crap all over this game if it involves forced waggle gimmickry)
Halo Triple

Too Human looks like it has potential as well, being that this is the eighth year of it's ten year dev cycle I am prepared to be more impressed with it over the next two years before playing it and saying "all that for this?"

Wow, lots of system warriors in this thread, it seems, judging by the lists.

A lot of really solid exclusives across the board, but the best game is multiplatform: Rock Band. Unless they totally blow it, it will be the most fun, the music plans sound amazing, and even though I've been trying to remain skeptical, I'm sold on it. My only reservation is major concern over how much it'll cost.

That said, I'll probably still get GH3 on my PS2 as well, because it sounds like it'll have a pretty good track list, and I don't have any plans to turf my two gee-tars anytime soon.

Wii Fit does not count, for those who are bringing it up, being neither the best of the show nor a game.

:lol No contest, when in fact that is the most far from the truth.

I gotta say its a tie between killzone 2 and mass effect. Probably KZ2 if i had to chooooose.

WiiFit - Doing push-ups is the greatest game ever except for the game of life.

Edit: If you don't call that a game then I would vote for Rock Band.

echochrome

Runner Up: Mario Galaxy

Echocrome wins because of the concept, I hadn't seen it before, and this is "Conference Edition."

Despite all those new wow announcements, I'd say LBP is my game of the show.
"Create" trailer on PSN is plain amazing, all those real-time editing goodness is just what I was expecting from the game and even more.

Sadly it was so shortly presented on Sony conference, but its still my game of the show.

Runners up: Mass Effect, GT5, Killzone, Kojima. :p

I'm suprised people are saying Killzone 2. The game looks fabulous visually, but it just looks BORING and mundane like the first one. The art design is so unappealing after a while in that series.

My vote would be wii fit. I like to work out, and the wii weight pad thingy opens up a lot of possibilities for gaming.

I will bet nearly anything that KZ2 ends up being the new Black. Massively overhyped, pretty to look at but mediocre gameplay. I mean, are people actually FORGETTING that KZ1 wasn't a very good game?

OOH LOOK PURTY GRAFX!!!1!!11

However, it is a better choice than wiifit, which is not actually a game. I think we should have a separate "Nintendo Discussion" forum, since they're not making any new real games anymore.

1. Halo 3, no question. It has everything I want in a game.
2. Call of Duty 4 - no idea that it was realtime at first. Then the guy you couldn't seegets up in front of you!
3. MGS4. Oh my.
4. Resident Evil 5
5. Super Mario Galaxy - love the bee outfit :lol
6. Ace Combat 6 - GOOSE!
7. Little Big Planet - I'll buy a PS3 for this if I can ever afford one!
8. PGR4 - I'm going to live online when this is out.
9. Assassin's Creed
10. Metroid Prime 3

I don't know if I've ever seen such an awesome lineup of games in such a short period of time.
