EA Gamescom Press Conference - [concluded]

I think that particular ship is part of the big "levolution" thingy (Skyscrapper collapsing, Dam blowing up, Antenna in Caspian BordeR).

So yeah, scripted but triggered by non scripted means. There seems to be things like this to a smaller scale though, you can see on the trailer one guy destroying a pilar to have a platform fall and use it as a ramp. Seems to be alot more dynamic then BF3.
When it's really as dynamic as implied with that pillar scene then I agree that it's something groundbreaking. I just fear that you can only destroy that one special pillar or something like that. Would be cool if dice made some video where they just run around and destroy everything.

Titanfall looked cool. I think it's the parkour and open level design that makes it look more interesting then the mechs though. I'd like to see an unscripted MP game.

Eh? Original Crysis was PC exclusive when it launched and you could really see it as it was way beyond what PS3 and X360 were able to do. Downgraded port was released later on consoles. Same with Half-Life 2.

What difference does it make that they were released later? Statements like "oh if only it didn't have to deal with these old consoles it would look so much better" are kind of bullshit. And the 360/ps3 version of Crysis is totally fine, so I don't know where this "it's beyond what consoles can do" notion comes from.

Battlefield games are pretty as hell, but the gunplay is just dull in my opinion

Then you've been unlucky. I've had plenty of gunfights in BF3 that have been just as exciting as what you see in the trailers. Close quarters made it easier, but there were times in Metro trying to get to the second mcoms through the subway... flippin incredible.

And there's something just plain awesome about seeing and/or hearing an RPG zip past your head when charging through a door.

respawn, try to find vehicle, no vehicles around, get sniped from across the map, respawn, find jeep, drive over land mine, respawn, capture 1 point, tank rolls in and camps you out for 20 minutes, match over, receive multi-colored ribbons...Hooah!

That's the best description of Battlefield I've ever seen.
