Metal Gear TRIOLOGY of course.

BuddyC said:What do you mean? Our article has always stated that Riccitiello's statement suggests the sequel could hit PlayStation 3, not that it will.
Right. Riccitiello said it would hit multiple platforms in the....ohh, I think I see where you're going. The possibility of a PS3 version versus the implication that Ricky "sugggested" it?Jtyettis said:The bulletpoints said multiple platform release for Q4. That was it and nothing more.
Yes, but I'm convinced that the sequel will pick up where the original left off, and anyone who didn't play the original will be as confused as a hungry baby in a topless bar.Kagari said:I don't think that has any relevance in today's industry. Plenty of sequels have shown up on systems the originals never did.
BuddyC said:Right. And?
As I said before, we've never said it will come to PS3, just that it's a possibility, but I've cleaned up the wording to prevent confusion that EA suggested a PS3 release. I know this sounds smarmy, but thanks for the criticism. It helps make a better site.Jtyettis said:So from that it automatically suggests PS3? As I stated early on in this thread I believe that it probably could go multi, but that could mean a lot of things, which it did and which is why I asked for a full transcript. Ngai seems to have cleared that up and Shacksnews has made changes to said article.
Considering how the first game sold on 360, exclusivity incentives might be a more attractive proposition than any extra sales from PS3 with the added cost of porting. This is basically how PS2 racked up so many defacto exclusives. Plus we don't really know the skinny on pre-existing exclusivity deals between Bioware and Microsoft...DMeisterJ said:It really does need to go PS360 though. EA just loss 640 million dollars. The cost of developing the game (and porting the prequel) could do wonders for game sales. You raise the userbase by 75 percent or so (using shipped numbers), and thus possible purchases. Seems like it'd be dumb to keep it exclusive unless they're paid something for it, as EA are bleeding money. I mean, if you're porting Dead Space to the Wii, porting ME to the PS3 is probably tons easier.
Agreed. Can't wait to play FFvsXIII on my 360. <3 <3Kagari said:I don't think that has any relevance in today's industry. Plenty of sequels have shown up on systems the originals never did.

I hope they release the PC version day and date with the console one this time though.

I know it's UE3 and UE3 is evil or whatever, but I'd like to try my hand at scripting and I hate fantasy.

I hope they use Dead Space engine >_>
Zzoram said:If anything, Dragon Age is more likely to include scripting tools and support custom modules, since it's a PC-centric title and they did it for Baldur's Gate 1/2.

Mass Effect is far from the industry standard, though. the series was structured as a trilogy with a single overarching storyline from the start. the core of the game revolves around making decisions that carry weight and will have repercussions in the sequels. add in the carrying-over of character and party stats and it becomes clear that one needs to play the series from the start to get the full experience.Kagari said:I don't think that has any relevance in today's industry. Yes. I'm totally assuming there will be no big AAA RPG in December.

I don't see the point of the multiplatform secrecy outside of some sort of time-exclusive deal....if it's coming to PS3 just say it EA, then all the hoopla surrounding the exclusivity will die, and owners of the consoles can just anticipate the game itself without all the extra nonsense.
I've already purchased The Witcher on PC. I shall have it finished way before that. Will see when Dragon Age will be released.Uncle said:End it with Witcher or Dragon Age.
