They'll clearly be pimping it out on their social media. In situations like this, it gets far better buzz promoting it, saying it's out "RIGHT NOW" in order to entice people to download. Saying it with say a week or two warning, wouldn't have the same effect

I am always baffled by this attitude. Who cares WHEN they promote it, as long as they do? Does it being downloadable for a little while before that hurt anyone? They always do this, put something up on the shop, and get to promoting it later in the day, week, etc. The people who don't know it exists don't care when it went live, it doesn't exist to them until the marketing reaches them. The time between release and marketing for downloadable software is irrelevant. We know about it because we follow the internet, the rest will know about it when Nintendo sends out its emails.

Nintendo is not incompetent because they do not see value in timing their marketing emails to the exact second a game goes up in the eshop, christ.
