Coming down at a pretty consistent rate now. Great for me since I get to practice taking pictures of snow/snowy conditions with the new camera.

Stopped snowing a while ago, but now we're getting this odd sleet/light snow mixture. Almost like little dust sized ice bits, and coupled with the wind it's weird.

I am in Ohio right now and am hoping to be on the cold side of the storm. I would rather have tons of snow than freezing rain, sleet, ice and all that load of winter crap.

Fucking Bullshit. I had to be on the warm side.

I hate my luck. it's been about a degree above freezing all day. The sun set over 5 hours ago and there has been no drop in temps. People just an hour north of me already have 10" of snow. I have maybe 2-3 inches of wet snow on top of 2 inches of heavy slush. This slush will freeze solid when colder air eventually moves in. Digging out of this will be a pain.

Hope it is better for the rest of you.

I spotted imperial walkers while shoveling my driveway. I am running out of food but I can't go anywhere cuz my tauntaun will freeze before I reach the first stoplight. And its getting so cold I had to close the blast doors.

But seriously its death outside. I've already shoveled the driveway twice. :(

Starting to stick in central Jersey. Hopefully it comes down harder and faster so I don't have to work.

Central Jersey gets to have all the fun every time it snows. Not even rain here in North Jersey. :[

We've got about 5" in Cbus at this point. I just shoveled two parking spots and moved my cars into them. That's progress--now they won't be 10" under tomorrow night.

12:15am here in Staten Island and we ain't got shit yet. LOL!!

I just watched the weather and Staten Island is literally cut in half with the snowfall total amounts. Northern part of SI can get 3-6", and then the more south you go on SI, it can increase up to 6-12".

Oh well, let's see what it looks like when I wake up tomorrow and have to shovel this shit....

I don't know if y'all are lucky or unlucky. I wish I could experience real snow more than a fourth of an inch thick, but the way everyone I meet from outside of Austin talks about it makes it seem like it may get old quickly. What is snow generally like, GAF?

I originally shoveled when the snowfall subsided around 8PM but it picked up again an hour later. I just went out again and shoveled to the street, at least a foot and definitely the deepest snow I've seen since I've been in MD. I wanted to keep going but then I would have to charge the neighbors.

A pain in the ass. Shovelling + bad roads + having to clean your car off all the time.

It'd be great if you didn't have to do any of that.

As a child: It's magical. School gets cancelled, and you spend the entire day playing in the snow, building snowmen, throwing snowballs, sledding, etc. Or, you spend the day inside, watching tv/playing games in the wonderful warmth that looks like a luxury considering the outside

As an adult: It sucks. You have to wake up earlier to warm up the car/clean it off, and if you don't have a plow guy, shovel yourself out. Usually the roads are not plowed to your liking, other drivers seem to have forgotten how to drive in the snow despite the fact that they live in the snow, and the commute can double. God forbid if you have to walk/bike anywhere.

On a weekend it's not so bad if you plan on staying in, but you'll eventually have to do some shoveling to get out. And in this storm, you'd be shoveling for ages.

The scenes in those pics are so fucking ordinary for Midwesterners :p

It's not that it's so out of the ordinary, but that it happened so fast. Where I am it's accumulating about an inch per hour. Half a foot or more in a single afternoon is absurd. That said, it seems like we get about one good blizzard like this per winter.

It looks like there is over a foot outside here in northern VA, and its suppose to keep snowing till tonight. Looks like we may actually get 2 feet or more of snow. Which is crazy, cause it has only happen once since they been keeping record.

Well over a foot here in Pittsburgh.

I know my poor car is buried in it, and it's STILL snowing!!!

edit: boy they really fucked up the forecast in Pittsburgh, yesterday evening we were only supposed to get around 6", now we're closing in on 20".

Yeah disappointed this morning when I learned we're getting only an inch of snow. I was planning on missing a class I have this morning.

It's like I live in the ice palace.

Yesterday the roads went from fine to wtf am I driving on in 10 minutes. Hope the next storm Tuesday finally kills us all.

About 3-4 inches on the ground in North Delaware and the winds just kicked up like crazy.

Delaware Represent!

Lots of snow outside my house right now. All the cars in my development are snowed in, and my street has not been plowed yet. And there is a state of emergency so we all get to sit at home. Just hoping there is enough snow to keep my college closed on Monday :o

Got up early and my ACT test is cancelled by this snow. I've already gotten a 32, but a scholarship I would like to earn (only) requires a 33 in math. I have a 32 in the math section. Hopefully my scholarship deadlines will understand whats going on.

Lol we have like 2 feet in Rockville, Maryland!! It looks crazy and the power turned back on when I woke up! I fell asleep last night before it turned off, too! lol pretty sick...and its still snowing until afternoon today I think. 5 to 9 more inches are expected. lol They call it Snowpocalypse! I just heard like 200,000 people doesn't have power. Sucks and most are in my county, Montgomery County. :D

wierd how the south gets more than ct this time! Is this the most snow you've had in memory?

From the pictures posted here, it seems like moderate snowfall for a place like Toronto.

Is this what Washington going to be like?:

That was Quebec City two years ago.

No, because in that picture the road is plowed. Washington prefers to take a "wait and melt" policy towards excessive snowfalls (or at least that's what I discovered when I was down there over Christmas break in the last big snowstorm).
