This thread just seems to be about gangsta rappers.
Ice Cube yes, a smart lyricist, a quick tongue.
Biggie - Flow.
Pac - Message
D.O.C - Nobody tells a story like him.
But what about the pioneers? How has everyone missed out Rakim? The man introduced alot of concepts to hip hop that werent before seen and even influenced people before his time like Rev Run and DMC. Granted his later work is shit, but those early days, you cant sweat his technique.
ODB, Method Man, the GZA - errrrrmmm..i dont think they should be explained.
Tribe Called Quest - as a collective, untouchable. Solo though, not so much.
Of course not. Pac received no royalties for Califonia Love, he did it as a favor to Dre in return for Dre writing all his lyrics. It's also why Dre had the rights to Pac's hologram at Coachella this year.
I really hope you are joking or trolling. I hope you are.
There have been numerous interviews with exmembers of Death row and they all say the first thing pac did when he got out of prison, (after his flight to LA) was to sit down and WRITE all eyez on me.
Dre is not a lyricist, he is a producer.
Gaf-Hop is officially worse than Pop-gaf in regards to shitting up OT threads. You all are sick pieces of shit.
Yes.
Eazy E wasn't really all that, the only reason he became a rapper was to clean his dirty money, I imagine Cube or MC Ren started writing his lyrics in the early days, from which he learnt.
He was humourous, nothing more.
