Ebay insanity has started

Suikoguy

I whinny my fervor lowly, for his length is not as great as those of the Hylian war stallions
Geeze, I did not expect to see system after system going for over $1000 dollars...

Guess I shoud list mine now :lol

Consider the fact that people who just waited in line for 8 hours, only to get shut down, are the ones shelling out this price. When they've had some sleep, it might return to the 5, 6 hundred level.

If you start do start an auction now, make it for only 3 days.

They are going for crazy prices, but a lot of the $1,000+ auctions ended up with 0 feedback deadbeat bidders just trying to drive the price up.

Hmm, I had not considered that.
I've got 160 postive feedback, 0 negative. So that may help my case a bit :D

Doing one ending friday seems like my best bet. Cause you know there will be none left by the end of the day, and certainly no additional for Black Friday.

I don't know if I can hold off from selling mine...

Somebody convince me that money is bad thing.

If I did not have so many damn ps2 games (Dragon Quest, Wild Arms, Suikoden Tactics, etc) and even Fire Emblem for Gamecube I have not even touched yet. I'd keep it. But I can wait till next year, no problem.

The bidders, not the sellers. As in, you're likely to get a non-paying ass to bid on your system.

Fortunately you can set your auction up to refuse bidders below 5, 10, 20 feedback if you want...

Or sell on Half.com... speaking of which, there's a Core Pack up for $325.

If those are just phantom bidders, who are they really? Disgruntled gamers who were mad when they saw the only way to get Playstation2 was through eBay? :lol

I am so bummed I don't have enough money to buy one right now and flip it. I cut up my credit card, too. :(

I'll go practice the piano to ease the pain.. I do have a recital coming up.

What Im wondering if how available 360's will be come the week before Xmas. Bc I cant fathom paying that much for anything video game related. You have to be desperate and a loony :lol

What about the children of Africa?

Damn, I should've made my auction end this morning instead of yesterday night (only ended at $910 USD). :/
Oh well, live and learn... for the PS3 launch that is. :lol

man i really hope my preorder comes in before christmas. cause that shit is goin on ebay

I never understood this. I reserve my hardware and get them on launch day all the time. It's so easy, hassle free and you can go pick up your console at the end of the day. Why doesn't everyone simply do this?

In this case, people who reservered it MONTHS ago did not get it. My local gamestop had 80+ reserves, we got 14 total (including the Tard Pack).

I reserved back before E3 so I was fine, but mind you it did not take long to get to 14 reserves.

if they could wait for few more weeks, they could've bought 3 360 with the money they are paying now.

but again I am not even sure if half of the auctions are really going through anyway.

MS cut the shipment at the last minute, so most people who didn't preorder before E3 aren't getting theirs.

BOY WHY DIDN'T I THINK OF THAT!

I reserved mine June 6th at GS, I'll be lucky if I get it before xmas.

Is GS (or anywhere else) taking pre-orders for PS3 yet? Apparently 5+ months is not enough to guarantee a system. I want to reserve PS3 as soon as I can so I don't have to go throught his again.

Because the people paying outrageous prices for a 360 now are not hard-core gamers. The 360 is the "in" thing to have right now, and for some people, money is not a problem.

I can't believe people are this impatient they just can't wait a few fucking weeks to buy a 360 at a normal price.

There's a strong chance you're not going to be able to find a 360 before Xmas if you don't have one bought or pre-ordered already. Can you get one in January? Maybe... I thought PS2's were still hard to find through March though.

The people paying $5000 for a 360 are no more ridiculous than the gamers paying $400 and choosing to open the fucking box instead of putting up their shit on Ebay.

By playing your 360 instead of selling it for, say, a $4500 profit is saying that playing it a few weeks before the channel fills up is worth $4500 to you. And with this launch lineup, that's patently ridiculous.

Yup that's true too. Rip off those rich idiots while you can. :)

I just checked out a couple of stores, called a few others. There is a constant stream of males age 18-25 in and out of most of them asking for 360. It got to the point where i was just yelling out the window at people, asking if they had any or not. The ones i called are answering their phone with "we are out of 360s".

I think I will get two PS3s for launch...

As someone who's always been against buying items just to jack up on ebay (thus screwing over non-rich customers who just want to enjoy the product) I'm gonna have to agree with you. The profit margin is just way too nice to pass up anymore.

I would hate to work in an EB or BB today.

Hey, good idea. I'll go into EB today, visit my poor addled friend who's been getting hammered all day, and put $5 down on a PS3... :D
